What This Role Delivers
Help keep the materials moving that keep OPPD¿s projects moving.
At Omaha Public Power District (OPPD), reliable power starts long before electricity reaches our customers. It starts with the people, equipment, and materials needed to build and maintain the infrastructure our communities depend on.
We're looking for a Supervisor, Supply Chain Management Operations Warehousing to help lead a growing area of our Supply Chain operations. This is an opportunity to take ownership of critical material workflows, strengthen coordination across teams, and help shape how OPPD supports major capital projects.
As OPPD expands its involvement in capital materials management, this position will play a key role in overseeing warehouse and yard operations, improving inventory accuracy, and ensuring materials are available when and where they're needed.
This is more than supervising warehouse activity. You'll help establish processes, solve operational challenges, support employees, and build a more coordinated approach to materials management across OPPD.
What This Role Will Lead & Own
-
Warehouse Operations & Material Flow: Oversee daily warehouse, yard, and material coordination activities to ensure materials move efficiently from procurement through receipt, storage, staging, and contractor pickup.
-
People Leadership & Development: Lead and support employees by establishing clear expectations, promoting accountability, encouraging professional development, and building a strong safety-focused team culture.
-
Inventory Accuracy & Accountability: Maintain effective inventory controls, accurate material tracking, and reliable transaction records. Help ensure materials are properly accounted for throughout their lifecycle.
-
Capital Project Support: Partner with procurement, engineering, project teams, and field operations to anticipate material needs, resolve delivery concerns, and reduce delays that could affect critical projects.
-
Safety & Operational Readiness: Promote safe warehouse and yard operations, coordinate equipment readiness, and reinforce safety practices that protect employees and support dependable material handling.
-
Logistics & Delivery Coordination: Oversee transportation and material delivery activities, including coordination of vehicles, drivers, equipment, and schedules to support operational needs.
-
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to simplify workflows, eliminate bottlenecks, improve service levels, and establish more consistent processes across Supply Chain operations.
-
Technology & Data Quality: Support effective use of Asset Suite and related Supply Chain systems to improve material visibility, reporting accuracy, and operational decision-making.
-
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a key point of contact for material availability, operational issues, and escalations while strengthening relationships with teams throughout OPPD.
-
Planning for the Future: Help evaluate staffing, workload distribution, and operational processes as OPPD's capital materials responsibilities continue to evolve.
What You Will Bring
-
Demonstrated ability to successfully complete essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
-
A valid driver's license to operate company vehicle(s).
What Will Help You Stand Out
We're particularly interested in candidates who bring a combination of leadership ability, operational experience, and a strong understanding of materials management.
-
Bachelor's degree or equivalent working experience.
-
One to three years of experience in warehouse operations management.
-
Experience supervising employees, coordinating workloads, and supporting team development.
-
Background in inventory management, materials coordination, warehousing, logistics, or supply chain operations.
-
Experience supporting capital projects, industrial operations, utilities, construction, or other complex operational environments.
-
Familiarity with inventory management systems, enterprise applications, or Asset Suite.
-
Strong understanding of material receiving, staging, storage, distribution, and inventory controls.
-
Experience improving operational processes, implementing standardized workflows, and resolving cross-functional challenges.
-
Ability to work effectively with procurement, engineering, field personnel, contractors, and other business partners.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who can lead people, solve problems, and help build processes that support reliable operations today and into the future.

This position is primarily field-based, supporting OPPD warehouse, yard, and materials management operations.
