Full job description
Design Engineer $200k – $260k • meaningful equity
About Novig Novig is building America's #1 sports prediction market. Our mission is to financialize and democratize sports trading - taking a closed system run by casinos and turning it into a fair, efficient, two-sided market where the power sits with users.
With Novig recently becoming a CFTC-designated market — the fastest designation of its kind in US history— we're bringing the prediction market built for sports fans nationwide.
We're backed by some of Silicon Valley's top investors — Pantera, Forerunner, Lux, NFX, Paul Graham, and Joe Montana — who have collectively invested over $100M behind this vision.
About the Role As a Design Engineer at Novig, you sit at the intersection of design and frontend engineering. Working directly with our design and engineering teams, you’ll help craft the core experience of the best Sports Prediction Market in the world: prototyping in code, testing with real users, and shipping product experiences that feel fast, fluid, and polished down to the last detail.
Design at Novig is AI first and craft first. We use tools like Claude Code to go from idea to working software fast, then test it on real devices with real users. From there, we refine the motion, interaction, and micro details intensely until it feels right.
Who you are and what you will do
-
Work AI-first: Use AI to translate ideas into working code, prototype different approaches, generate components, and iterate on implementations. Keep AI in the loop from initial concept through implementation.
-
Obsess over the last 5–10%: Own how users experience and interact with the product, from transitions to the tiniest details most people overlook. Work closely with our design leads to bring their direction to life in code, then push it further.
-
Help define our motion principles. Transitions, animations, and micro-interactions that feel snappy, smooth, and exciting.
-
Connect design systems, product, and brand: Turn Novig’s design principles into scalable components and repeatable patterns. Evolve the design system to make distinctive, brand-driven experiences easier to create and maintain.
-
Prototype in code and test with users: Build interactive prototypes, then gather feedback through user research tools. Use those insights to iterate on user flows before turning them into scalable, production-ready patterns.
-
Prioritize performance and accessibility: Build experiences that are fast, inclusive, and reliable. Follow best practices for semantic structure, navigation, focus states, and motion preferences. Partner with engineers to debug and optimize over time.
-
Move fast with ownership and curiosity: You move quickly and adapt well in fast-paced environments, with a bias toward ownership and action and clear and thoughtful communication.
Why work here, in the words of the people who do “I work with extremely stellar people, I own real systems, and decisions happen fast. No politics, no waiting for needless red tape. If something's broken, I fix it. If I build something good, it ships.”
“The people! They're smart, thoughtful, fun to work with and passionate about their craft.”
“I'm having the most fun I've had in my entire career.”
If you want responsibility, trust, and the chance to help build the future of sports prediction markets - take your shot, we’d love to connect.
Not for everyone
-
Our work is tied to live sports - that means potential nights, weekends, and pressure included.
-
If you need clear swim lanes, a heavy process, or someone to tell you what to do, this won’t be the right environment.
