Full job description
Klarna, briefly At Klarna, we’re building an everyday finance network, helping over 120 million consumers across 26 countries save time and money, and worry less about their finances. Working here means taking on problems most companies never get to solve, and being hands-on enough that the interesting part of the work lands with you, not someone else — you’ll build with AI, not watch it happen. This is the stretch zone. Come find out what you’re capable of. About the role Klarna’s largest merchants are the ones where a single commercial decision moves the most volume. You’ll join one of our Partner Success Teams and work with these merchants to find where they can grow with Klarna, and to turn each opportunity into a solution that scales across their business. You’ll set your own direction. Nobody will hand you a list of accounts to maintain: you decide which opportunities are worth pursuing, bring in analytics, delivery, and marketing colleagues when a partnership needs them, and learn each merchant’s business quickly enough to advise it.
What you’ll do
-
You’ll build business plans jointly with merchants and execute them through to measurable growth for both sides.
-
You’ll review existing merchant partnerships, identify where performance can improve, and deliver those improvements.
-
You’ll work with Klarna’s analytics, delivery, and marketing teams on enablement and lead generation for your merchants.
-
You’ll identify new partnership opportunities, pitch Klarna’s services, and close new deals, upsells, and expansions.
-
You’ll build relationships with merchant stakeholders from individual contacts up to the C-suite, and manage the internal stakeholders those partnerships depend on.
-
You’ll research each merchant’s market and competitors to decide how Klarna should position itself.
-
You’ll create and present Quarterly Business Reviews to merchants’ C-suite teams.
-
You’ll keep your accounts on deadline and within budget.
-
You’ll adapt Klarna’s business model to each merchant’s local market without losing what makes it recognizably Klarna.
Who you are
-
You’ve spent 5+ years in Business Development, Account Management, or Sales.
-
You’ve worked in retail, payments, technology, or e-commerce.
-
You’ve built a partnership or business line from the ground up.
-
You explain commercial proposals clearly and keep several accounts, deadlines, and budgets organized at once.
-
You work through a merchant’s performance data to find the growth opportunity and the problem behind it.
-
You own the results of your accounts, work across teams to deliver them, and change your approach when the numbers say it isn’t working.
Bonus points for
-
A Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a related field, or relevant certifications.
-
Experience working with international markets and communicating across cultures.
-
Fluency in more than one language.
-
Experience using CRM tools and data analysis software.
Things you should know before applying
-
Working together: we value co-located teams; most teams currently meet in the office 2–3 days per week, and this varies by team and can change over time.
-
Non-obvious backgrounds are welcome. Diversity of skills, perspectives and backgrounds is how we create, innovate, and disrupt like no other.
-
Final compensation will be based on the candidate’s qualifications, skills, and experience.
