Full job description

Description

Are you passionate about helping the world's largest manufacturers and industrial enterprises reimagine their supply chains and operations using the power of the cloud? Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced Technical Business Development Manager to join the Manufacturing & Engineering Center of Excellence (CoE) within the Automotive and Manufacturing Industry Specialist & Solutions team.

In this role, you will own the business development strategy, Go-To-Market and Solutions for supply chain — spanning planning, procurement, logistics, warehouse management, and supply chain operations — engaging directly with C-suite executives and VPs at leading automotive and manufacturing companies.

Your responsibilities will include providing thought leadership to the sales organisation, engaging AWS Solutions Architects and industry partners, leading the development of industry solutions, and helping evolve AWS offerings for more rapid adoption by customers. You will translate complex customer challenges into cloud-enabled opportunities, own AWS's go-to-market approach, and own the development of lighthouse oppotunities that accelerate digital transformation engaging with key customers.

The ideal candidate will have both a business and technical background with experience working with Industrial and Automotive & Manufacturing customers, and demonstrated experience interacting at the CxO/VP level with a solid understanding of cloud technology. This is an individual contributor role that demands strategic and analytical thinking about business, product, and technical challenges — combined with a builder's mindset, a keen sense of ownership, drive, and the scrappiness to deliver results in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

Key job responsibilities

  • Define and execute the supply chain strategy in alignment with the overall automotive and manufacturing strategy, identifying initiative and priorities, customer targets, and partnership opportunities.

  • Engage C-level and VP stakeholders (Chief Supply Chain Officer, VP Operations, VP Procurement, CIO/CTO) at prioritized accounts to understand their strategic priorities, build trust, and position AWS as a long-term transformation partner.

  • Provide thought leadership on supply chain and operations modernisation including demand planning, S&OP, control tower, digital twin, warehouse automation, and related factory operations, through executive briefings, industry events, workshops, and published content.

  • Own and collaborate cross-functionally with Industry Specialists, AWS field sales, solutions architects, professional services, partner teams, and product teams to develop solutions, and build go-to-market plays.

  • Identify and develop strategic partnerships with ISVs (e.g. SAP, Blue Yonder, Kinaxis, o9 Solutions, Coupa), system integrators, and technology partners to create joint solutions that address end-to-end supply chain challenges.

  • Serve as the "voice of the customer" internally, synthesising market trends, competitive dynamics, and customer feedback to influence the strategy.

About the team

The Manufacturing & Engineering Center of Excellence (CoE) is part of the Industry Specialist and Solutions Organization within the Automotive and Manufacturing Business Unit (IBU). The team mission is: To assist automotive and manufacturing companies to digitally transform their product engineering & development, manufacturing, supply chain, and smart products & services workloads using cloud and AI.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of solving problems with technology in the Automotive & Manufacturing industries experience

  • 5+ years of Go-To-Market, Business Development, Sales, or Consulting experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience explaining complex technical concepts to various business and technical audiences

  • Experience presenting to both technical and non-technical executive audiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in business, data science, public administration, finance, engineering, human resources, or related field, or PMP certificate

  • 7+ years of supply chain management (e.g. logistics, inventory turn management, forecasting, operations) experience
