Full job description

Life at UiPath The people at UiPath believe in the transformative power of automation to change how the world works. We’re committed to creating category-leading enterprise software that unleashes that power. To make that happen, we need people who are curious, self-propelled, generous, and genuine. People who love being part of a fast-moving, fast-thinking growth company. And people who care—about each other, about UiPath, and about our larger purpose. Could that be you?

About the team Vertical Solutions is where UiPath brings agentic AI into some of the world's most complex and demanding industries: healthcare and life sciences, financial services, and the office of the CFO. An AI decision here can shape how a claim is reviewed, how a patient's care progresses, or how a financial close is completed. The stakes are high, and so is the bar. Regulated does not mean complicated. We believe enterprise software should feel as clear, intuitive, and thoughtfully designed as the best consumer applications. Our designers are builders. We design in code with AI tools like Claude and Codex, co-create with customers, and ship directly to production alongside our engineering partners. AI isn't just what we design for; it's fundamentally changing how we work. We're looking for a Senior Manager, Product Design who can lead this next chapter: someone who thinks beyond individual products, connects experiences across industries, and builds the systems, strategies, and teams that make exceptional design scalable. About the role As Senior Manager, Product Design, you'll lead a team of senior and principal-level product designers responsible for user experiences across UiPath's Vertical Solutions portfolio. This is not a traditional design management role focused on assigning work, managing deliverables, or overseeing design reviews. Your team already knows how to execute. Your opportunity is to help them see further, think bigger, and create more cohesive experiences across products and industries. You'll set the design strategy for the Vertical Solutions portfolio, turn workflows that recur across industries (reviews, approvals, exception handling, human oversight of agents) into shared patterns, and build design systems that accelerate delivery without compromising quality. You'll also shape how AI transforms the design discipline itself. AI is collapsing the distance between an idea and working software, and that changes what design craft, collaboration, and quality look like. You'll lead this shift from the front, setting the workflows, standards, and quality bar that make AI-forward design work at scale. What you'll do

  • Set the design strategy. Define and communicate a cohesive, forward-looking experience vision across multiple products, industries, and business workflows. Connect near-term execution to longer-term product and design priorities.

  • Lead and empower an exceptional team. Manage and develop the team, providing strategic direction, thoughtful feedback, and the autonomy they need to do their best work.

  • Connect the dots across products. Identify the user needs and interaction patterns shared across healthcare, financial services, and finance operations, and turn individual solutions into reusable components and patterns that improve consistency, quality, and speed across the portfolio.

  • Lead AI-native design and delivery. Set how the team designs and builds with AI tools like Claude Code and Codex. Make working code and shipping to production, not static handoffs, the default way design gets delivered.

  • Partner deeply with product and engineering. Operate as an integrated member of cross-functional teams that plan, build, and ship together, influencing priorities, navigating tradeoffs, and ensuring design considerations shape product decisions from the beginning.

  • Stay connected to customers. Champion user research, direct customer engagement, and a deep understanding of how people work across different industries. Ensure product decisions reflect real user needs rather than assumptions.

  • Influence and advocate. Communicate design strategy and build alignment with senior product, engineering, and business leaders.

  • Stay hands-on. Build and ship yourself when it matters, critique work, and dig into complex design challenges with the team.

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience leading product design teams, including at least two years managing a team of five or more designers, ideally including senior or principal-level individual contributors.

  • A strong background in product design, with experience shaping modern enterprise SaaS applications, business-user-facing products, or consumer digital experiences.

  • Demonstrated ability to establish design strategy across multiple products, teams, or business domains, not simply manage execution against an existing roadmap.

  • Deep systems thinking, including direct experience developing, scaling, or meaningfully evolving design systems and reusable experience patterns.

  • Hands-on experience designing with an AI-forward process. You use tools such as Claude Code and Codex in your day-to-day work to prototype, build, and ship, and can show examples of work produced this way.

  • A builder mindset. You understand how modern frontend applications come together and have shipped production code alongside engineering partners, or led designers who do.

  • Strong cross-functional leadership, with a track record of influencing product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders within a larger organization.

  • Strong customer empathy and experience using research, customer engagement, and real-world workflows to inform design decisions.

  • The ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and build alignment around a compelling design vision.

  • Comfort operating in ambiguity, navigating competing priorities, and making thoughtful decisions in a rapidly evolving technology environment.

Nice to have

  • Experience designing AI-powered, agentic, or automation-driven products, particularly those involving human oversight, trust, or complex business workflows.

  • Experience spanning multiple industries, such as healthcare, financial services, enterprise software, or consumer technology.

  • Familiarity with GitHub and modern frontend development workflows.

  • Experience leading distributed teams or collaborating across North American and European time zones.

  • Experience evolving traditional design organizations toward AI-native, code-first ways of working.

How we work We believe the future of product design is more integrated, more technical, and more collaborative. Our designers don't hand off static files to engineering. They prototype, build, and ship directly to production alongside their cross-functional peers. We use AI to reduce repetitive work, accelerate iteration, and create reusable systems that make the entire organization more effective. We also believe great design leadership is about creating clarity, not bureaucracy. Our designers are experienced, independent thinkers who thrive when given meaningful problems, strong strategic direction, and room to explore. You'll lead a team that spans multiple business domains and collaborates with colleagues across the United States and Europe. If you're energized by building exceptional teams, connecting complex problems, and redefining how AI-powered enterprise experiences are designed and delivered, we'd love to meet you. #LI-MH1 Maybe you don’t tick all the boxes above—but still think you’d be great for the job? Go ahead, apply anyway. Please. Because we know that experience comes in all shapes and sizes—and passion can’t be learned. Many of our roles allow for flexibility in when and where work gets done. Depending on the needs of the business and the role, the number of hybrid, office-based, and remote workers will vary from team to team. Applications are assessed on a rolling basis and there is no fixed deadline for this requisition. The application window may change depending on the volume of applications received or may close immediately if a qualified candidate is selected. We value a range of diverse backgrounds, experiences and ideas. We pride ourselves on our diversity and inclusive workplace that provides equal opportunities to all persons regardless of age, race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, and expression, national origin, disability, neurodiversity, military and/or veteran status, or any other protected classes. Additionally, UiPath provides reasonable accommodations for candidates on request and respects applicants' privacy rights. To review these and other legal disclosures, visit our privacy policy.
