Summary

Hands-on engineering role supporting the launch and scale-up of manufacturing operations in Charleston. The position combines manufacturing/process engineering with production and capacity planning, material flow, ERP/MRP discipline, work instructions, quality and direct shop-floor support.

Responsibilities

  • Own and improve production processes, routings, work instructions, standard work and manufacturing documentation.

  • Develop production, capacity and resource plans aligned with incoming orders, equipment capability and required delivery dates.

  • Support ERP/MRP and production-data accuracy, including materials, routings, inventory, scheduling and manufacturing status.

  • Analyze material flow, bottlenecks, labor utilization, throughput, quality and lead-time performance; implement practical improvements.

  • Support equipment commissioning, process validation, layout optimization and introduction of additional manufacturing capability.

  • Partner with operations, logistics, engineering, sales/project teams and European technical resources to resolve production and product issues.

  • Apply Lean / continuous-improvement methods and establish measurable shop-floor performance controls.

  • Provide hands-on technical support to operators and help develop training, quality checks and repeatable production standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Process Engineering or a closely related discipline; strong recent graduates may be considered.

  • Manufacturing, process, production-planning or industrial-engineering experience in a hands-on environment.

  • Working knowledge of production planning, capacity planning, ERP/MRP, material flow and manufacturing documentation.

  • Strong problem-solving, communication and ownership mindset; comfortable working directly on the production floor.

  • Ability to operate effectively in a startup/ramp-up environment where processes and systems are still being built.

Preferred Background

  • Advanced manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, fabricated products, architectural products, glass, aluminum, millwork orconfigurable assembly.

  • Lean / Six Sigma, root-cause analysis, quality systems, line balancing, time studies or continuous improvement.

  • Experience with CNC/fabrication/assembly equipment and production-system implementation.
