Are you passionate about helping employees stay successful at work while navigating complex medical and workplace needs? Were looking for an Accommodation Specialist who combines empathy, organization, sound judgment, and strong communication skills to guide employees and employers through the workplace accommodation process.

In this fully remote role, youll serve as a key point of contact for employees requesting workplace accommodations related to a qualifying disability. Youll review medical documentation, help identify reasonable accommodation options, collaborate with HR and other internal partners, and ensure employees receive a responsive and supportive experience.

What Youll Do

  • Manage a high-volume caseload of approximately 150+ accommodation cases while maintaining accuracy, timely follow-up, and excellent service.

  • Meet directly with employees to understand accommodation needs, review medical documentation, and help identify reasonable workplace solutions.

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employees requesting accommodations related to qualifying disabilities.

  • Guide employees through the accommodation process, including expectations, documentation requirements, responsibilities, and timelines.

  • Review preliminary information to help determine the potential existence of a qualifying disability.

  • Evaluate return-to-work potential and provide accommodation recommendations based on established guidelines.

  • Partner with employers on challenging situations involving return to work, leave as an accommodation, and potential employee separation.

  • Present information confidently to HR leaders, executives, business owners, and employer groups.

  • Collaborate with medical, return-to-work, legal, disability management, and absence management teams.

  • Escalate more complex accommodation cases when additional expertise or review is needed.

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant case documentation and track accommodation requests from intake through resolution.

  • Stay organized and meet established case management metrics, deadlines, and follow-up expectations.

What Were Looking For

Required:

  • Understanding of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the workplace accommodation process.

  • Ability to clearly explain what a reasonable accommodation may look like for both the employee and employer.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent organization and time-management abilities.

  • Comfortable managing a large, fast-moving caseload with competing priorities.

  • Strong critical-thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Empathetic and professional approach when working with employees through sensitive situations.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate case documentation.

  • Confidence communicating and presenting to HR professionals and leadership.

Highly Preferred:

  • Associates or Bachelors degree.

  • Previous experience working with medical documentation, disability management, accommodations, leave management, return-to-work programs, or employee relations.

  • Familiarity with EEOC guidelines and employment-related regulations.

  • Experience working in a case management environment.

Who Will Thrive in This Role?

You may be a great fit if you are someone who:

  • Loves helping people navigate complicated situations.

  • Can balance empathy with policy and business requirements.

  • Doesn't feel overwhelmed by a high-volume workload.

  • Enjoys investigating information and finding practical solutions.

  • Can confidently communicate with employees, HR teams, and executives.

  • Knows how to prioritize urgent cases while still keeping routine follow-ups moving.

  • Is comfortable discussing sensitive medical and employment-related information professionally.

  • Thrives in a structured, metric-driven environment while still delivering a personalized employee experience.
