Full job description

Senior Manager, Material Development - NIKE, Inc. - Beaverton, OR. Drive materials and product excellence in partnership with material vendors, collaborating closely with internal stakeholders as well as finished goods factories. Develop the seasonal roadmap of new material developments, mappings, and retirements using excellent data and analytics skills. Manage the expansion of palettes to both new and existing material suppliers. Be an expert on materials and their usage on finished goods with the ability to anticipate potential issues, problem solve challenges, and teach and train others. Collaborate closely with product creation, sourcing, costing, and manufacturing teams ensuring both upstream and downstream synergy including multi-sourcing strategies and volume allocations. Develop strategy for development and implementation of palette materials making sure developments can deliver strong performance in manufacturing quality, delivery, costing and sustainability priorities, ensuring impacts are mitigated and issues are resolved. Lead a team that ensures palette health which resonates with the product development and design communities. Telecommuting is available from anywhere in the U.S., except from AK, AL, AR, DE, HI, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, MT, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, OH, OK, RI, SD, VT, WV, and WY.

Must have Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Material Science or Product development and 5 years of experience in the job offered or a product-related occupation.
