Position Description

Texas State UniversitySchool of Social Work (https://www.socialwork.txst.edu/) invites applications for two full-time, nine-month, non-tenure line faculty positions at the Assistant Professor of Instruction rank.

The positions include: (1) Assistant Professor of Instruction and (2) Assistant Professor of Instruction/Program Coordinator.Both positions will be based at the University’s Round Rock Campus and they will teach in-person classes during the day or in the evening.

Both positions will contribute to the School of Social Work’s academic mission through high-quality teaching, student engagement, and service. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate social work courses in face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats, as assigned, and participating in appropriate service activities at the School, College, University, professional, and community levels.

Required Qualifications

Assistant Professor of Instruction:

  • MSW or DSW required or equivalent with two years’ experience.

  • Prior teaching experience or related.

Assistant Professor of Instruction / Program Coordinator:

  • MSW or DSW required or equivalent with two years’ experience.

  • Prior Leadership / Supervisory Experience.

  • Prior teaching experience or related.

Preferred Qualifications

Assistant Professor of Instruction:

  • Doctoral degree, preferably in social work.

  • Current, valid, and unencumbered social work license.

  • Experience with electronic learning management systems.

  • Demonstrated evidence of campus and community engagement.

  • One year plus teaching experience.

  • Two years of experience in social work practice or related fields.

Assistant Professor of Instruction / Program Coordinator:

  • Doctoral degree, preferably in social work.

  • Current, valid, and unencumbered social work license.

  • Experience with electronic learning management system.

  • Demonstrated evidence of campus and community engagement.

  • Two years of experience in social work practice or related fields.

  • One year plus teaching experience.
