Position Announcement Full-Time Paramedic Fredericktown EMS is currently accepting applications for a full-time Paramedic position. We are seeking a motivated, professional, and clinically capable individual who is committed to providing exceptional emergency medical care to the residents and visitors of our community. Located in rural northwest Knox County, Ohio, Fredericktown EMS serves approximately 9,000 residents across 118 square miles. Our department takes pride in providing compassionate, professional, and high-quality emergency medical services while working closely with area fire departments, law enforcement agencies, and healthcare partners. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, professionalism, dependability, teamwork, and a commitment to continued education and improvement. As a member of Fredericktown EMS, you will be expected to contribute positively to the department, maintain a high standard of patient care, and represent the organization professionally both on and off duty. **Key Responsibilities ** - Respond promptly to emergency medical calls and provide high-quality patient care. - Perform thorough patient assessments and provide treatment in accordance with current protocols and scope of practice. - Safely operate and maintain EMS vehicles, medical equipment, and station facilities. - Work effectively with fellow EMS providers, fire personnel, law enforcement, hospitals, and other healthcare professionals. - Accurately document patient care and maintain complete and timely patient records. - Participate in continuing education, department training, quality improvement, and skills evaluations. - Maintain knowledge of current EMS protocols, procedures, and best practices. - Maintain a professional appearance, attitude, and demeanor while representing Fredericktown EMS. - Participate in routine station, equipment, and vehicle maintenance duties. - Perform other duties as assigned by department officers. **Minimum Qualifications ** - Current Ohio Paramedic certification. - Current Ohio driver's license with an acceptable driving record. - Ability to successfully complete required background checks. - Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications, or ability to obtain. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work effectively as part of a team. - Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining composure and professionalism. - Demonstrated ability to provide safe, competent, and compassionate patient care. - Successful completion of the department's hiring process, including required knowledge and skills assessments. **Preferred Qualifications ** - Previous experience working as a Paramedic in a 911 EMS system. - Previous experience in a rural EMS environment. - Additional EMS or healthcare certifications. - Strong familiarity with current EMS clinical practices and protocols. - Demonstrated history of dependability, professionalism, and teamwork. **Benefits ** - Competitive salary - Healthcare reimbursement/stipend - OPERS retirement plan - Tuesday Kelly Day - Paid sick and vacation leave - Uniform allowance - Supportive, team-oriented work environment - Opportunity to serve and make a meaningful impact in the Fredericktown community **Employment Expectations ** F
