Full job description

The Director of Development is the Museums senior fundraising professional and the Executive Directors primary partner in developing and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy. This is a strategic and hands-on role with responsibility across individual and major giving, corporate and foundation support, annual giving, membership, grants, donor stewardship, and campaign planning. The Director will operate as a senior individual contributor, personally developing donor and funder relationships and executing fundraising strategy while working closely with the Executive Director, Board of Trustees, Remington Foundation, and Museum staff. The Museum is specifically seeking a builder: someone who can bring organization, discipline, and consistent follow-through to a growing development program. The successful candidate will strengthen the systems underlying the Museums fundraising while actively cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding supporters. The Director will not be starting from a blank slate. The Museum has established donors, members, corporate and foundation relationships, grant support, and significant opportunities for growth. The Director will be expected to organize and build upon this foundation to create a more deliberate, relationship-centered, and sustainable development program.
