About Premier Group

Premier Group (PG) is a woman-owned CPA and advisory firm in Landover, Maryland, specializing in government and nonprofit auditing, federal grant compliance, and professional services. We are hiring two Staff Auditors to join our audit team: one focused on financial statement audits and one on government compliance audits.

Staff Auditor, Financial Statement Audit

This role performs fieldwork on financial statement audits of nonprofit and other organizations, working under a senior auditor and audit manager.

Responsibilities

  • Perform audit procedures and test balances, transactions, and internal controls

  • Prepare and organize workpapers in line with firm standards and GAAS (AU-C)

  • Reconcile client trial balances and financial records to supporting documentation

  • Assist with audit planning, PBC requests, and client communication

  • Prepare financial statements and related footnote disclosures in accordance with GAAP, and draft memos and audit reports

  • Document and communicate issues and potential adjustments to the audit team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field

  • 1 to 3 years of audit experience in public accounting preferred

  • Working knowledge of GAAP and GAAS, with the ability to prepare financial statements and footnote disclosures

  • Proficiency in Excel and audit software

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and written communication

  • CPA license or progress toward CPA eligibility preferred

  • Nonprofit audit experience is a plus

Position Details:

  • Pay Rate / Range:$28.13

The above salary range represents the range expected for the position; however, final salary offers are based on a number of factors such as the position’s responsibilities; the candidate’s experience, education, and skills; location; travel required; and current market conditions.
