Summary As a Senior Database Engineer, you will provide services for databases that support the client in production of applications, software development, and application maintenance projects. What You'll Be Doing: * Provide database administration to databases running on Oracle standalone and Oracle RAC on Linux / SunSolaris servers. * Install, configure, and maintain database application with required patches and updates * Manage database security and user permissions and privileges in accordance with application/database requirements * Develop and/or maintain database objects (tables, views, indexes) * Monitor and optimize database performance and tuning * Manage and ensure compliance with database backup strategies * Customer support to database and associated application development team, owners, and user stakeholders * Maintain Database Lifecycle Management processes detailed by client specifications * Provide impact information on proposed changes to application and it's database structure * Provide schedule and resource requirements to stakeholders concerning proposed changes to the application and associated database * Provide sizing recommendations for any new databases or changes to existing databases, including user/data growth projection and the impact on the server memory and performance characteristics * Participate in meetings with Solution Delivery Service staff and stakeholders * Work with other database administrators to ensure optimal efficiency and optimization of databases, server clusters, replications, back-up strategies, and database services to the client and its customers.Required Qualifications: * Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other IT degree; Engineering, math, and/or science degrees are acceptable substitute degrees * Minimum of 15+ years of relevant experience * Experience in Oracle, MySQL, and SQL Server database administration in an enterprise environment * Extensive experience on Oracle, MySQL, and SQL Server hosted on On-premise, AWS EC2, AWS RDS or equivalent; Experience in AWS S3, AWS Data Migration Services * Oracle, MySQL, and SQL Server database administration experience * Experience in Microsoft based server environments * Experience in Database Lifecycle Management (DLM) * Experience in Data Scrubbing, Data Masking, Data Compare and Review. * Experience in improving Database user / systems authentication robustness. * AWS and/or Azure experience * Relevant certification * The ability to successfully obtain and maintain a U.S. Suitability/Public Trust Background ClearancePreferred Qualifications: * Operating in traditional and agile project models * Working with PTC Integrity (DLM software) is a plus * Installation and management of Always On Availability Groups * Setup and maintain Transparent Data Encryption and column-level encryption * Deployment of Integration Services packages and Reporting Services reports. * Experience with AWS RDS PostgreSQL and Aurora PostgreSQL * DevOps toolchain services (GIT, Ansible Tower, Artifactory, Jenkins, Vault secrets management)Things to Know:Commitment to Non-DiscriminationAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to disability, status as a protected veteran or any other status protected by applicable federal, state, local, or international law.Salary RangeThe proposed salary range for this role is $155,000 to $170,000 USD.
