This position oversees strategic HR initiatives and enterprise projects that support Meijer’s store organization. Additionally, it will focus on fostering strong employee relations, talent management, and organizational development initiatives within the store experience organization. In this role, you will oversee cross-functional projects, manages change initiatives, and ensures successful execution of programs that enhance leadership capability, team member experience, and overall store performance. Strong HR expertise, project management skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment are essential.

​​Position will follow our hybrid schedule: Monday-Wednesday in Grand Rapids MI corporate office, Thursday-Friday remote. Some travel to stores expected.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Serve as the primary HR Business Partner for the Store Experience team, providing strategic guidance and consultation to leaders on organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, change management, team engagement, and employee relations matters while aligning people strategies with business objectives.

  • Partner with business and HR leaders to align HR strategies and priorities with organizational objectives and operational needs.

  • Lead complex HR and enterprise projects from planning through execution, ensuring successful delivery and alignment with business goals.

  • Manage onboarding and assimilation processes for newly appointed leaders to support a smooth transition and accelerate effectiveness.

  • Build strong relationships with HR partners, business leaders, and key stakeholders across the organization.

  • Develop and implement change management strategies that support adoption, minimize disruption, and drive successful outcomes.

  • Analyze HR and business data to identify trends, measure impact, and provide data-driven recommendations to leaders.

  • Support workforce planning, organizational design, and business transformation initiatives across the Stores organization.

  • Drive process improvement efforts that enhance organizational effectiveness, consistency, and operational execution.

What You Bring With You (Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources, business partnership, project management, or organizational effectiveness.

  • Proven track record of leading complex, cross-functional projects and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong understanding of HR processes, change management principles, and organizational effectiveness practices within a retail or multi-site environment.

  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, solve complex problems, and translate business needs into actionable solutions.

  • Strong analytical skills with experience using data and metrics to inform recommendations and decision-making.

  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with project management and collaboration tools preferred.
