Full job description
Join our team, we are growing! We are looking for an experienced optician who will thrive in a busy private practice optometry office. Our patients expect knowledge of frames, lens materials and other lens options; as well as efficient, friendly service, with attention to detail. Job responsibilities and duties: - Review Physician's prescriptions and orders based on medical charts - Operate manual lensometer and other equipment to achieve proper fitting for patients - Educate patients on their corrective lens options and help them make a choice that fits their medical needs as well as lifestyle preferences - Provide honest but compassionate feedback about aesthetic choices in frames - Communicate with physician any questions or concerns about prescriptions and other eye-related issues - Make dispense calls to patients to pick up contacts/glasses - Understand insurances to successfully order eyewear for patients Qualifications and skills: - Experience with both contact lenses and glasses is beneficial but not required - Ability to operate manual lensometer and other equipment is beneficial but not required - Ability to work quickly and independently - Excellent customer service and sales skills required - Reliable, dependable, and loyal - Sense of style and fashion is helpful Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour Schedule: - Coverage week days and Saturday at Columbus and Buckeye Lake Office
