Human Resources Specialist
Beacon Hill's client in Burnsville, MN is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to join there HR Team. This position offers the opportunity to support a broad range of human resources functions, including talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, and HR operations. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in HR practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a professional office environment.
Location: Burnsville, MN
Compensation: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-time; standard business hours.
Position Summary
The Human Resources Specialist will be responsible for supporting the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through employee support and compliance. This role partners closely with hiring managers and employees to ensure effective human resources processes while maintaining adherence to federal, state, and local employment regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Manage full-cycle recruiting activities, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and hiring qualified candidates.
Partner with department leaders to identify staffing needs and determine required skills and qualifications for open positions.
Coordinate and facilitate new hire orientation and onboarding programs, ensuring timely completion of all required documentation and processes.
Monitor, track, and maintain employee training and compliance records.
Support the administration of human resources programs, including compensation, benefits, employee relations, and talent management initiatives.
Respond to employment-related inquiries from candidates, employees, and supervisors, escalating sensitive matters when appropriate.
Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Remain current on HR trends, regulatory updates, best practices, and emerging technologies within the HR field.
Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines, including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, compensation, benefits administration, employment law, and compliance.
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution abilities.
Ability to build productive working relationships and collaborate effectively across teams.
Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
Education and Experience
Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field with a concentration in Human Resources, or
Four or more years of progressive Human Resources experience.
Additional Requirements
Candidates must qualify as a U.S. Person as defined under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), including U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, individuals granted asylum, or those admitted as refugees.
Work Environment
This position is based in a professional office setting and involves regular interaction with employees, candidates, managers, and external partners. Responsibilities include extensive computer work, electronic communication, and participation in both in-person and virtual meetings.
