A Little About You

You bring a unique blend of personality and professional expertise to your work, inspiring others with your passion and dedication. Your career is a testament to your diverse experiences, community involvement, and the valuable lessons you've learned along the way. You are more than just your resume; you are a reflection of your achievements, the knowledge you've gained, and the personal interests that shape who you are.

Position Overview

As Senior Director of Learning & Development, you will set the vision and lead the enterprise strategy for building the capabilities Zelis needs to perform today and thrive in the future. You will partner with senior leaders across the organization to translate business strategy, workforce needs, and emerging trends into scalable learning experiences and development pathways that strengthen leadership, accelerate performance, and build organizational capability.

What You'll Do:

Anticipate future workforce capabilities-including leadership, AI fluency, digital skills, business acumen, regulatory knowledge, and other emerging needs-and translate them into clear, scalable development strategies and pathways.

Establish the enterprise leadership development strategy and standards, creating a cohesive approach to developing leaders at critical career and leadership transitions.

Serve as a trusted advisor to the Operating Committee and senior leaders, providing perspective and recommendations on leadership, organizational capability, workforce development, and emerging skill needs.

Build an enterprise learning architecture that integrates facilitated learning, digital and on-demand experiences, e-learning, coaching, cohort-based development, and other modalities to provide relevant learning at the point of need.

Create engaging, high-impact learning experiences and facilitate select enterprise programs and executive or leadership experiences, applying adult learning principles to drive participation, behavior change, and business impact.

Establish clear measures of learning effectiveness and business impact, using data, insights, and feedback to evaluate adoption, capability growth, behavior change, and return on learning investment.

Lead enterprise learning governance, establishing clear standards, decision rights, prioritization processes, and accountability for learning and capability development across Zelis.

Create alignment across functions and geographies, including strong partnership with colleagues in India, using influence and collaboration to establish shared ownership of enterprise learning priorities while enabling appropriate local flexibility.

Own and optimize the enterprise learning investment portfolio and budget, including leadership development, executive coaching, learning technologies, compliance learning, external partners, and innovation initiatives.

Evaluate and evolve Zelis' learning technology ecosystem, including opportunities to leverage AI and emerging technologies to personalize learning, improve access, increase speed to capability, and enhance the associate experience.

Lead strategic external partnerships and vendor relationships, ensuring partners deliver measurable value, differentiated expertise, and scalable solutions.

What You'll Bring to Zelis:

12-15+ years of progressive leadership experience in enterprise learning, talent development, or organizational effectiveness.

Masters preferred.

Demonstrated success leading multi-year, enterprise-wide learning strategies in complex organizations.

Demonstrated ability to influence without authority, building alignment across senior leaders, functions, and geographies to drive enterprise-wide learning priorities, standards, and adoption.

Proven ability to facilitate large and small learning sessions that make a lasting impact.

Proven experience managing significant budgets and enterprise vendor portfolios.

Strong executive presence with ability to influence C-suite and Board-level discussions.

Deep understanding of digital learning ecosystems, AI-driven capability shifts, and workforce transformation.

Experience designing governance models and enterprise operating frameworks.

Hybrid role with requirement to be in the office at least 3 times per month - 50 mile radius to Morristown, NJ or Boston, MA

Ability to travel within the US and Internationally (India)
