Full job description

In the time it takes you to read this job description, RapidSOS will have handled ~1,380 emergencies. Saving lives depends on the right information reaching the right people at the right moment. RapidSOS builds the technology that makes that possible, and people around the world are joining a mission-driven, ambitious and inclusive team to do that work. Four values guide how we work: purpose over pride, trust & safety, pioneering, urgency. Together they support a culture where people innovate, collaborate, grow and, above all, make an impact. RapidSOS is the leading public safety AI company that unlocks mission-critical intelligence for emergency response. It pairs AI with human expertise to turn data from the world’s largest Safety Network into life-saving intelligence. The network includes more than 730 million connected devices and more than 325 global technology companies. That intelligence reaches more than 23,600 federal, state and local agencies, serving 1.2 million first responders. RapidSOS has supported more than 1.1 billion emergencies in 16 countries. That experience informs RapidSOS Harmony AI, the first purpose-built AI for public safety, designed to save critical time by detecting emergencies, unifying real-time data and video, and coordinating a faster response. Learn more at www.RapidSOS.com. What this role is about: Every legal request at RapidSOS comes through one front door, and this role owns it. As our Legal Operations & Paralegal Specialist, you’ll be the operating backbone of a lean, AI-native legal team that supports four Business Units. You’ll make sure every matter lands with the right owner on day one, that public-sector deals don’t stall waiting on paperwork, and that no insurance, filing, or compliance deadline is ever missed. You’ll also build the automations and AI workflows that take routine work off our attorneys’ plates, so counsel can spend their time on judgment calls. This is an individual contributor role reporting to our Lead Corporate Counsel, and you’ll have real ownership from the start. What you’ll do:

  • Run Legal’s intake for 10+ new requests every business day. Triage each one and route it to the right owner the same day, with every required field filled in.
  • Keep public-sector revenue moving by turning around standard order forms, RFP administrative packages (W-9s, certificates, registrations, signatures), and customer and vendor setup documents quickly and accurately. Spot anything non-standard and escalate it to counsel.
  • Own corporate insurance end to end: work with our broker, drive the renewal timeline, and deliver certificates of insurance within two business days.
  • Run the corporate compliance calendar, including annual reports, entity good standing, registered agent, Data Privacy Framework recertification, and our SAM.gov and GSA Schedule administration.
  • Own the legal tech stack (our legal tracker, Ironclad, and the template library), and partner with our AI team to build intake rules, templates, and AI agents for work like order-form review, NDAs, and vendor review.
  • Use GC AI, the Claude suite, Ironclad, and Coworker for first-pass checks of order forms, NDAs, and RFP requirements, and to compare customer insurance requirements against our coverage. You’ll confirm accuracy before anything leaves Legal.
  • Keep Legal’s operating data clean and trusted, and deliver an automated weekly scorecard that shows leadership volume, turnaround, and bottlenecks at a glance.
  • Handle sensitive matters, including HR investigations, litigation, M&A, and criminal justice data, with complete discretion.

What we’re looking for in our ideal candidate:

  • 4+ years of experience as a paralegal or legal operations professional. In-house experience at a SaaS or government-contracting company is a strong plus.
  • Hands-on experience with a CLM or matter-management system (Ironclad or similar).
  • A track record of owning certificates of insurance, corporate filings, and entity maintenance.
  • Fluency with AI tools for drafting, review, and workflow. You’ve built at least one automation or AI workflow yourself, and no-code tools count.
  • Strong follow-through. You own deadlines across a high-volume queue without needing reminders.
  • Sound judgment about what’s routine and what needs an attorney.
  • Discretion with privileged and highly sensitive information, including criminal justice data and HR matters.
  • Minimal to no travel required.

Nice-to-have experience (but not required!):

  • Experience with SAM.gov, the GSA Schedule, or public-sector RFPs.
  • A paralegal or legal operations certification.

What we offer:

  • The chance to work with a passionate team on solving one of the largest challenges globally
  • Competitive salary and benefits and equity participation
  • A dynamic, flexible and fun start-up work environment with a highly talented team
