Full job description
Description We are looking for an experienced Grant Analyst to support grant-related operations for an organization in California. This contract opportunity is ideal for someone who is detail oriented and can manage funding documentation, maintain accurate records, and help ensure compliance across federal and government grant activities. The role requires strong analytical ability, precision with numeric data, and the capacity to handle a high volume of administrative and financial information in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:

Oversee grant administration activities from initial documentation through ongoing tracking and reporting to support program and funding requirements.

Review grant records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable federal and government funding guidelines.

Maintain detailed financial and administrative grant data, including large volumes of numeric entries, with a high level of precision.

Reconcile grant-related information across internal records and supporting documentation to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.

Prepare and update reports, spreadsheets, and status summaries that help monitor awards, expenditures, and compliance deadlines.

Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather required materials, verify funding details, and support timely submission of grant-related information.

Assist with grant accounting functions by organizing financial data, tracking allocations, and supporting audit-ready documentation.

Support process improvements within grant operations by identifying inefficiencies and helping maintain consistent recordkeeping practices. Requirements • At least 5 years of experience in grant administration, grant analysis, or a closely related field.

Hands-on experience working with federal grants and other government-funded programs.

Knowledge of grant accounting principles, financial tracking, and compliance documentation.

Strong data entry skills with the ability to process high-volume numeric information accurately.

Demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines with minimal supervision.

Proficiency in reviewing records, identifying inconsistencies, and maintaining organized documentation.

Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
