Summary

The Data Requests (DR) team is responsible for delivering timely and accurate customized data extraction solutions to support the data reporting needs of the Agency. DR develops coding solutions that extract and transform warehouse data as per user business requirements into reporting artifacts, using a combination of Oracle SQL, Oracle PL*SQL, and Microsoft Excel.

Duties

The Data Requests (DR) team provides data and written responses to tasks from the Office of Executive Review (OER) in response to requests from the White House, Congress, VA Central Office, VBA Central Office, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), the Government Accountability Office (GAO), the Office of the Inspector General (OIG), the media, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, and other external stakeholders. Specific duties include: Determine stakeholder information needs as per business requirements using data warehouse artifacts such as tables, applicable table relationships, data marts and views used to fulfill ADHOC data request. Analyzes, designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs complex SQL and PL*SQL code to address stakeholder ADHOC requirements. Communicates complex technical information and business concepts both in writing and verbally to stakeholders, subordinates, peers and leadership. Create technical solutions by developing user response documentation, code comments and clear code. Inform PA&I management of issues and events arising because of reviews and analyses for which the incumbent is assigned. Work Schedule: Full time, Monday through Friday. Compressed/Flexible: Available. Telework: This position is eligible for situational (ad hoc) telework only. The selectee is required to report to the official duty station each scheduled workday. To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement:10/13/2026.TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENT: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements (unless if in the commuting area and eligible for a non-competitive hiring authority such as Schedule A, VRA, or 30% or more disabled Veterans). For a GS-13 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-12 level. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. These requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement and those applying for a Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: GS-13 Grade Level: Specialized Experience: Candidates must have at least one years' experience and be able to demonstrate their ability in designing, developing and implementing complex Structured Query Language (SQL) or Procedural Language Extensions (PL*SQL) in a business environment. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Full vs. Part-Time Employment: Full-time employment is considered to be at least 35 hours per week. Part-time experience will be credited on a pro-rated basis; when including part-time employment in your resume you must specify the average hours worked per week.
