SPACEWORKS
At SpaceWorks Enterprises, we specialize in next-generation high-speed flight systems, human and robotic spacecraft, as well as entry, descent & landing technologies. Our core competencies include conducting preliminary design of aerospace concepts, performing detailed multidisciplinary engineering analysis, developing commercial aerospace software, prototyping spacecraft hardware components, and conducting market and economic research within the aerospace industry. We serve clients from the Department of Defense, NASA, and the commercial space sector.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR (ALL)

College student pursuing a degree (BS, MS, or PhD) in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field
-
Involvement / leadership in organizations on campus, passion projects in the backyard, and strong GPA
-
Strong written and verbal communications skills
-
Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio
-
Windows and Linux operating systems
-
Familiarity with the basic principles of version control systems
-
Engineering Fundamentals: Applies first-principles to simplify systems and perform rough sizing using hand calculations
-
Technical Documentation: Able to create and interpret engineering drawings and contribute to technical reports
-
Familiarity with modeling in languages such as Python and/or MATLAB
-
MUST be able to work in-person in Atlanta, GA
-
Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR (BY TEAM)
Aerosciences -
Aerodynamics and Aerothermal focus areas
-
CFD (for aerodynamics or aerothermal, at least one of the following)- Star-CCM+, FUN3D, ANSYS-Fluent, OpenFOAM, CBAero, Cart3D
-
Thermal Analysis Tool (for aerothermal, would want at least one of the following) - Thermal desktop, Ansys, FIAT
-
Bonus Points - CAD tool (at least one of the following)- ESP, NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, and/or PTC Creo
Propulsion
-
Fundamental understanding of propulsion systems including fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and combustion
-
Interest in a variety of aerospace propulsion systems including rockets, RDREs, cold gas thrusters, turboramjets, and scramjets
-
Proficiency in computer aided design (CAD) tools such as SolidWorks, Unigraphics NX, CATIA, and/or PTC Creo
-
Thermal Analysis Tool (for aerothermal, would want at least one of the following) - Thermal desktop, Ansys, FIAT
GNC
-
Relevant work or project experience in Guidance, Navigation, Control, Modeling & Simulation, and Flight Testing
-
Experience in multidisciplinary design optimization in Matlab, Python, and/or Julia
Systems Analysis - flight performance, trajectory, orbital mechanics
-
Flight Performance key metrics and how they affect a system (T/W, range equation, wing loading, etc)
-
Experience with trajectory optimization software, CFD tools, MATLAB/Simulink, or equivalent simulation platforms
Software - pursuing engineering degree with interest in coding
- Proficient in at least 1 programming languages: Rust, Java, Python, C/C++
