Full job description

Company Description

Matter Family Office is a multi-family office dedicated to helping families thrive for generations. Founded in 1990 and privately held, Matter provides family operations, wealth planning, investment management, family learning, and project management services to clients nationwide from offices in St. Louis, Denver, and Dallas. Our collaborative culture blends accountability and trust with optimism and fun.

Job Description

The Manager, Client Service Consultants runs the day-to-day operations of Matter's Client Service Consultant (CSC) team. This is a player-coach role: about half your time goes to leading the team and its workflow, process, and technology, and half to serving your own book of clients as a CSC. You report to the Partner who leads the CSC function and are the team's main point of coordination with custodians, fund managers, and other internal Matter Team Leads or Managers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the CSC team's daily operations, including regular check-ins, issue escalation, performance reviews, and capacity and coverage planning

  • Carry an assigned book of clients, handling account maintenance, documentation, and service requests, and model workflow standards for the team

  • Manage the CSC team's workflows, process documentation, training, and day-to-day use of core platforms such as Practifi, Asana, and DocuSign

  • Run regular operational check-ins with custodians, including J.P. Morgan, Fidelity, and Schwab, and track custodial limitations and known issues

  • Own custodian user administration, access permissions, and master account administration for Fidelity and Schwab

  • Coordinate fund manager account maintenance across SMAs and alternative investments

  • Apply Matter's compliance and risk documentation standards across the team and flag issues to leadership

  • Partner with Client Service, Investment Advisory, Accounting, Reporting, and Tax on shared workflows, onboarding new clients from acquisitions, and ad hoc projects

Qualifications

  • 8+ years executing client service operations workflows and managing a client workload in wealth management or a family office

  • Experience leading a team, including performance management

  • Experience with custodial platforms such as Schwab, Fidelity, and J.P. Morgan, and their operational limitations

  • Experience with master account structures, user permissions, money movement, and trading support

  • Comfort with CRM, workflow, and e-signature tools, and an interest in improving process and technology

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to compliance and documentation standards

  • Clear, professional communication with clients, custodians, and internal teams

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field required; CFP, CFA, CPA, or MBA preferred

Benefits

Matter offers medical and dental plans with HSA/FSA options, employer-paid disability and life insurance, a 401(k) with employer match, and 10 paid holidays plus competitive vacation and sick leave. We also support continuing education, career growth, and community involvement.

Equal Opportunity

Matter Family Office is an equal opportunity employer and considers all qualified applicants without regard to any characteristic protected by law. We are unable to sponsor work visas.
