Graphic Digital Design Supervisor

Primary Responsibilities

  • Supervise development of design concepts/layouts for projects from the department queue, and special projects requested by department and Company leadership.

  • Utilize project management software to assign, manage, monitor, and report on projects for Graphic Digital Designers, including analyzing the need for and incorporating the use of external resources.

  • Provide hands on creative supervision and review of projects prior to release for approval to ensure Company branding guidelines are adhered to.

  • Ensure that employees are properly trained (not only for their own responsibilities but for backup support as well) and seek out ways to advance their skills and capabilities.

  • Evaluate and anticipate work volume and assign/distribute work accordingly.

  • Work with department resource managers to understand and manage project priorities and ensure timely completion.

  • Ensure projects are delivered on-time and within budget.

  • Communicate project progress, status, issues, and resolutions at department meetings.

  • Collaborate with the Creative Services Manager to provide project stakeholders with creative vision and leadership for projects based on business goals and needs, as well as manage them to expectation and on time.

  • Cross collaboration with internal Marketing teams and other departments within the Company.

  • Perform duties such as creating/revising job descriptions, conducting Talent Development discussion sessions, rating performance, establishing/tracking goals and completing annual wage reviews.

  • Responsible for coaching, motivating, mentoring, and developing direct reports to successfully take on additional responsibilities.

  • Lead and supervise the creation and on-going management of processes to support completion of projects through the department.

  • Evaluate process improvement opportunities and work with department managers to implement.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree (Graphic Design, Visual Communications or Marketing, along with at least 5 years of related experience

  • Non-degree considered if 6+ years of related experience along with a high school diploma or GED

  • Occasional travel (0-5%)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graphic design experience.

  • Excellent Macintosh computer and software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, PowerPoint, etc.) skills.

  • Experience using Adobe Workfront or similar enterprise scale project management software.

  • Experience with print production processes and equipment.

  • Ability to communicate concepts and ideas through written, visual, or verbal means.

  • Good listening skills and the ability to follow directions.

  • Strong creative leadership with proven design ability.

  • Excellent written and verbal communications.

  • Good organizational skills and keen attention to detail.

  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a fast-paced marketing team.

  • Ability to prioritize projects, work within short time frames, and meet deadlines.

  • Process-orientation and skilled in leading process improvement initiatives.

  • Experience developing and managing project plans and schedules.

This position is on-site at the New Bremen, OH location.
