HR Generalist

Location: Saint Paul, MN (Hybrid)

Pay: $29-$35/hour, depending on experience

Schedule: Full-Time | Hybrid (First 90 days onsite for training, then 3 days onsite/2 days remote)

Beacon Hill is partnering with a well-established professional services organization to identify an experienced HR Generalist to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys being involved in all aspects of human resources while working in a collaborative, employee-focused environment that values work-life balance, professional development, and employee engagement.

About the Role

The HR Generalist will partner closely with leadership to support a wide range of human resources functions including recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, payroll, compliance, training and development, performance management, employee engagement, and organizational development. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats, building strong relationships across the organization, and helping create a positive employee experience.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

Manage full-cycle recruiting for exempt and non-exempt positions.

Coordinate job postings, candidate screening, interviews, reference checks, and offer processes.

Facilitate onboarding and orientation programs for new hires.

Support offboarding activities and employee transitions.

Maintain and update job descriptions and performance metrics.

Employee Development & Performance Management

Coordinate employee training and development initiatives.

Maintain employee training records and learning resources.

Support performance evaluation processes and performance improvement plans.

Assist leadership with identifying and implementing training opportunities.

Compensation, Payroll & Benefits

Process payroll accurately and timely.

Support compensation analysis and market research activities.

Administer employee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, retirement, leave administration, and workers' compensation.

Serve as a resource for employee benefit inquiries and enrollment support.

Compliance & HR Operations

Maintain HR records and employee files in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Support internal and external audits.

Monitor changes in employment laws and HR best practices.

Assist with policy development, implementation, and updates.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.

Employee Engagement & Organizational Development

Support initiatives focused on employee engagement, retention, and workplace culture.

Assist with company meetings, employee communications, and team-building activities.

Partner with leadership on organizational development initiatives and change management efforts.

Contribute to programs that support employee satisfaction and professional growth.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.

Minimum of 3 years of progressive Human Resources experience.

Experience supporting multiple HR functions including recruiting, benefits, payroll, and employee relations.

Strong understanding of employment laws and HR compliance requirements.

Professional HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar) preferred but not required.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
