About the Role

CBRE is seeking an Assistant Facilities Manager to support day-to-day facilities operations at a premier corporate office environment. This position is highly visible and responsible for maintaining site conditions, coordinating vendors and trades, overseeing workplace maintenance activities, and ensuring a positive client experience. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, facilities maintenance knowledge, vendor coordination experience, and the ability to identify and resolve building-related issues before they impact operations.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for day-to-day facilities requests and front-line client support.

  • Conduct routine site inspections and floor walks to evaluate overall building conditions, cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness.

  • Identify facility issues requiring remediation, including housekeeping concerns, lighting outages, exposed cabling, minor maintenance issues, and workplace safety concerns.

  • Create, assign, and monitor work orders through the CMMS ticketing system.

  • Coordinate and oversee vendors and onsite trades, including janitorial, carpentry, maintenance, and specialty service providers.

  • Delegate and track corrective and preventative maintenance activities to ensure timely completion.

  • Support office reconfigurations, furniture installations, and internal employee moves throughout the facility.

  • Oversee painting, patching, minor repairs, and installation of workplace fixtures such as shelving, coat hooks, signage, paper towel dispensers, and similar items.

  • Monitor vendor performance and ensure work is completed according to service level expectations and site standards.

  • Maintain accurate documentation, spreadsheets, reports, and operational records.

  • Assist with KPI tracking related to site conditions, service delivery, and overall facility performance.

  • Partner with facilities leadership to ensure a high-quality workplace experience for employees and visitors.

  • Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE's RISE values.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.

  • 2-5 years of facilities, property, workplace, or building operations experience.

  • Experience working in a corporate office, commercial real estate, hospitality, or facilities environment.

  • Familiarity with CMMS/work order management systems and ticketing processes.

  • Experience coordinating vendors, contractors, janitorial teams, and maintenance personnel.

  • Ability to identify facility-related issues and determine appropriate corrective actions.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, and building occupants.

  • Strong organizational and documentation skills with attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.

  • Experience maintaining records, tracking work orders, and managing operational spreadsheets.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple requests and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Familiarity with workplace moves, occupancy changes, and office reconfiguration projects is preferred.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will be a hands-on facilities professional who understands building operations and workplace services. They will possess strong soft skills, be comfortable interacting with multiple vendors and stakeholders, and have the experience to recognize issues that require remediation before they escalate. Experience overseeing janitorial services, coordinating trades, conducting facility inspections, and managing CMMS tickets is highly desirable. Strong communication, follow-through, and customer service skills are essential for success in this role.
