Human Resources Specialist

Advance Pump & Equipment, Inc. | Peosta, IA | Full-Time, Onsite | $55,000-$65,000

Advance Pump & Equipment, Inc. is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to join our team in Peosta, Iowa (near the Dubuque County Fairgrounds). We are a hands-on manufacturing company looking for someone who already has Human Resources experience and wants to continue growing in the field. This position is responsible for the day-to-day administration of Human Resources and payroll. It is a strong opportunity for someone with an HR foundation who is ready to broaden their experience, take greater ownership, and grow into additional HR responsibilities over time.

What You'll Do

Process payroll and maintain timekeeping records, coding and approvals
Administer employee time off, benefits and routine leave documentation
Maintain personnel files, employee records and HR documentation
Coordinate onboarding and offboarding
Manage job postings, applicant screening and interview coordination
Maintain DOT driver qualification files and required documentation
Coordinate workers' compensation claims and related documentation
Assist employees with routine HR, payroll and benefit questions
Support supervisors with attendance and employee documentation
Work with the Safety Coordinator on HR-related safety documentation and compliance

What We're Looking For

1-2 years of Human Resources experience required
Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field preferred
Experience with payroll and timekeeping preferred
Experience with benefits administration, recruiting, onboarding or employee records preferred
High level of accuracy, organization and follow-through
Clear, professional communication and practical problem-solving skills
Comfortable working with both office and production employees in a manufacturing environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
