Full job description

Summary

The Foreign Exchange Trading Advisor is responsible for ongoing development First Horizon's foreign exchange product execution and development to increase efficiency, company-wide usage, and revenue. The person in this position will be responsible for trading (or coverage of trading) and for ongoing development and implementation of operational best practices for servicing foreign exchange products. The Advisor will generate or coordinate publication of periodic commentary pieces on the foreign exchange market, as well as addressing ad-hoc, internal, and external audiences on foreign exchange and the company’s products. The Foreign Exchange Trading Advisor assists with the development of processes and systems to address client needs and manage risks and manages day-to-day foreign exchange trading activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Executes or manages coverage of daily trading and settlement for foreign exchange transactions and products like Foreign Currency Accounts.

  • Monitors documentation and reporting of trades in accordance with regulations, policies and procedures.

  • Provides periodic FX commentary for internal and external distribution.

  • Creates ad-hoc FX commentary and/or indication pricing for specific customer scenarios.

  • Coordinates with FX System vendor, liquidity providers and internal partners for implementation and ongoing improvements to Foreign Exchange system for back office and customer front end.

  • Coordinates FX-specific team compliance training with department Compliance Officer.

Requirements:

  • At least four years of experience in Trade Finance/FX-related products

  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills

  • Initiative, integrity, reliability and ability to meet deadlines

  • Demonstrates a client-focused work ethic

  • Highly effective and cooperative team player

  • Has understanding of accounting principles key to foreign exchange risk management

  • Excellent oral and written communication as well as interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Bachelor’s degree with MBA or MA in Accounting and/or CFA preferred

  • Excels at listening for customer needs and providing solutions

  • Has experience in analyzing/reporting on international market events and their impact on foreign exchange

  • Acts as a trusted advisor to internal and external partners

  • Has knowledge of foreign exchange and related trade finance products used by all levels of clients

  • Develops and documents counterparty relationships, trading procedures and risk analyses

  • Is proficient with systems used to trade and manage foreign exchange

  • Maintains an awareness of regulations and accounting standards governing foreign exchange
