Full job description
Research Assistant II at Montana State University-EARC MSU Eastern Agricultural Research Center is seeking a research assistant to support the field, greenhouse, and lab research activities for pulse crops, cereals, and oilseeds. The duties for this position include but not limit to: Packaging and organizing seeds; Planting field plots (driving tractor or operating planter); Applying fertilizer and controlling weeds; Collecting soil and plant samples; Processing soil and plant samples in the lab; Recording and entering data into a computer. This person will also help with other projects as needed. Required qualifications include: a high school or bachelor's degree in related field, some knowledge and experience in organizing field and greenhouse experiments, knowledge and experience in processing soil and plant samples in the lab, and good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team. Preferred qualifications include experience in Microsoft Word and Excel, and experience in operating small farm equipment. Salary is $20/hr, commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications. The job is available immediately.
