Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Marine Fiber Optic Technician to support our client in the Hampton Roads, Virginia area. This technician will install, run, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cable aboard marine surface vessels. This role will be based in a shipyard environment and will have mandatory OT opportunities. The schedule for this role is Monday through Friday, 6 am - 2:30 pm. The pay will depend on years of experience and the pay range is between $23-$30/hr.

Skills and Requirements

  • 3+ years of shipboard electrical experience
  • Experience pulling, routing, and installing cable aboard ships
  • Ability to perform hands-on physical work in industrial/maritime environments
  • Willingness to obtain fiber optic certifications and complete technical training
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Marine Electrician, Electronics Technician (ET), Electrician's Mate (EM), or IC/ICMM background
  • Fiber optic certification
  • Fiber optic installation or termination experience
  • Connectorization experience
  • Multi-pin connector experience
  • RF systems experience
