Full job description

Recovery and Resolution Planning (RRP) is responsible for the design, development and maintenance of the firm’s recovery and resolution plans and related capabilities. The plans require development of central strategies to support timely and effective execution of various financial, legal and operational actions during periods of unprecedented stress. Development of the plans requires coordination with stakeholders across the organization, including technology, finance, treasury, operations and businesses, to ensure execution readiness. RRP sets the requirements for and reviews plan documentation to ensure that it meets regulatory guidelines and is fit for purpose to guide management and board throughout both the planning and execution phases. RRP is also responsible for identifying required capabilities necessary to support plan development and execution and for establishing the framework to support capabilities testing. Finally, RRP oversees and manages the governance process associated with plan approval and submission along with regulatory engagement for plan review and challenge.

We are seeking an Assistant Vice President to join the Recovery & Resolution Planning team within the Finance organization. This team is responsible for developing and maintaining recovery and resolution preparedness, including strategies, capabilities and plans, that support regulatory requirements and strengthen firm resilience during periods of financial stress.

The successful candidate will support strategic planning initiatives, coordinate regulatory submissions, and partner across Finance (including Treasury), Risk, Operations, Technology, and the businesses. The role offers significant exposure to senior leadership through regulatory and strategic deliverables and provides the opportunity to influence enterprise-wide resilience, governance, and regulatory preparedness programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of recovery and resolution planning deliverables.

  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis related to contingency actions and strategies to restore capital and liquidity levels in stress.

  • Partner with stakeholders across business and functional areas to gather information, challenge assumptions, and develop content for regulatory submissions.

  • Support planning frameworks related to critical business activities, essential operations, legal entities, and financial resilience.

  • Draft and review executive summaries, regulatory materials, presentations, and senior management communications.

  • Coordinate complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, dependencies, and regulatory deadlines.

  • Present analyses, recommendations, and status updates to senior management and governance forums.

  • Translate complex regulatory, financial, and operational topics into clear, actionable messaging and follow-up actions.

  • Escalate emerging risks, issues, and decision points appropriately while operating independently and exercising sound judgment.

  • Support regulatory response activities, simulation exercises, and strategic resilience initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in Recovery & Resolution Planning (RRP), stress testing, finance, treasury, business management, risk management, regulatory affairs, consulting, or a related field.

  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple workstreams and deliverables simultaneously.

  • Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills, including the ability to develop executive-level presentations and perform data analysis.

  • Familiarity with emerging Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and Large Language Models (LLMs), including their practical application for research, analysis, content development, and productivity enhancement.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex subject matter effectively to senior executives, regulators, and cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide clear direction, action items, and follow-up guidance.

  • Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong risk awareness and escalating issues appropriately.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.

  • Experience influencing stakeholders and building relationships across a large, matrixed organization.

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Public Policy, or another analytical discipline preferred.

Preferred Experience

  • Advanced Education: Master’s Degree (MBA, MS in Finance, or related discipline).
