Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced researcher in Rheumatology. Applicants will have the opportunity for academic advancement within a mentored research program. Opportunity for teaching students, lab personnel and fellows in a laboratory setting.

Required Qualifications*

Applicant should hold a PhD and have:

  • At least two years of research experience in cellular and molecular biology, genetics, and metabolic regulation

  • At least two years of experience in the cell biology of fibrosis, including pathological myofibroblast activation, endothelial-to-mesenchymal transition, and extracellular matrix remodeling

  • Experience developing and using three-dimensional skin, lung, or other patient-derived organoid models to study disease mechanisms and vascular stromal interactions

  • Ability to design and conduct translational studies using human biospecimens, stem-cell-derived systems, and animal models

  • Facility with computational analysis and multidimensional data generation to identify molecular pathways and novel therapeutic targets in chronic fibrotic disease

  • Experience with mentoring post-docs and supervising undergraduates

  • Excellent written and spoken language communication skills

Evidence of scholarly ability (publications in high impact peer-reviewed journals) is expected.
