Full job description
Description Reporting to the Supply Chain & Operations Manager, the Buyer will be responsible for supporting the organization’s supply chain needs and ensuring that goods and services required for production are purchased and received in a timely manner. This position will also facilitate the purchase and delivery of internal purchase requisitions.
Key Responsibilities
- Review MRP messages to determine material requirements for customer orders or forecasted demand
- Send RFQs to prequalified suppliers based on material requirements
- Review supplier quotes and recommend the best option for purchase
- Create and execute purchase orders with suppliers
- Review payment requirements with accounting and help facilitate prepayments as needed
- Follow-up with suppliers to ensure materials are received according to promised date
- Assist with onboarding new suppliers as requested
- Support the Engineering Team with new product development for sourcing and delivery of prototype materials
- Help with maintaining accurate inventory counts
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of Fortem Technologies, Inc.
Requirements Required Skills/Experience
- This is a 100% on-site role and US Citizenship is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business Management or a related field. Commensurate experience will be considered.
- Professional Work Experience: minimum of 1-year direct experience in a Buyer or similar role.
- Excellent computer skills using the Microsoft Office Suite tools
- Knowledge of how MRP works and ability to navigate in ERP system (Odoo or Global Shop experience a plus)
