Job Title: Restoration EstimatorJob Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Restoration Estimator to assess property damage, develop accurate cost estimates, and coordinate closely with clients, insurance partners, and internal teams to ensure restoration projects are completed efficiently, on time, and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site inspections to evaluate the extent of damage caused by fire, water, mold, or natural disasters.

  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for restoration and repair projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.

  • Review and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications to support precise estimating and project planning.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates, answering questions, and addressing concerns throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Coordinate with insurance companies to provide all required documentation and support the efficient processing of claims.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and subcontractors to schedule work, allocate resources, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

  • Use estimating software and related tools to create, update, and manage estimates and project documentation.

  • Maintain thorough records of project progress, including photos, reports, change orders, and other necessary documentation.

  • Monitor work quality in the field and ensure all restoration activities meet company standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.

  • Identify potential issues or cost overruns early and propose solutions to keep projects on track.

  • Handle multiple active projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy, organization, and clear communication with all stakeholders.

  • Provide exceptional customer service by responding promptly to inquiries and maintaining a professional, supportive relationship with clients and partners.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience in restoration estimating or a closely related estimating role.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with clients, internal teams, and insurance representatives.

  • Proficiency in estimating software, including tools similar to Xactimate and Symbility.

  • Ability to prepare accurate cost estimates covering materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.

  • Experience conducting on-site damage assessments for fire, water, mold, or natural disaster events.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite for documentation, reporting, and communication.

  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on practical, cost-effective solutions.

  • Commitment to maintaining detailed project documentation and records.

  • Understanding of quality control principles and regulatory requirements in restoration or construction environments.

  • Customer service experience in a client-facing role.

  • Familiarity with working directly with insurance companies and navigating claim processes.

Work Environment

This role is based in an office environment and supports a collaborative, close-knit team of approximately 78 people in the coordinating group. The culture emphasizes working hard, recognizing and rewarding strong performance, and investing in each team members growth through development and promotion opportunities. The standard schedule runs from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with some flexibility for additional hours as project demands require. The dress code is business casual, reflecting a professional yet approachable atmosphere.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Burbank, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $48.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
