Role Purpose

This position is within the Insurance & Claims Department, based out of our Dallas Fort Worth home office. Reporting to the Claims Manager. Responsible for oversight of workers compensation and general liability claims and vendor partners, monitoring the progress of claims to effect timely closure, ensuring compliance with internal and external policies, procedures, and regulations. Ensures compliance with company, federal, and state regulations.

What you will be doing

  • Perform day-to-day oversight of claims to ensure timely handling and closure.

  • Participate in claim reviews with third party administrator, broker and internal participants.

  • Authorize reserves and settlements within established authority.

  • Manage and maintain internal claims database.

  • Serve as liaison for field managers in answering questions about and providing guidance for workers compensation and general liability claims.

  • Adhere to company policies and procedures and participate in achievement of company objectives.

  • Utilizes company equipment, supplies and resources in a conscientious, cost-effective manner.

  • Cleanliness of immediate work area and report maintenance needs.

  • Project a positive image and respond to inquiries from clients, staff and public in a courteous manner.

  • Attend meetings and in-services as required.

What we are looking for:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Some college preferred.

  • 10 years workers’ compensation claims handling experience.

  • Some general liability claims experience preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal verbal and written communications skills.

  • Ability to work as a team while focusing on details.

  • Solid experience working with TPA and insurance company claim systems.

  • Extensive knowledge of insurance-related policies and legislations.

  • Excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills.

  • Treat all information as confidential.

  • Possess the tact to deal with all levels of employees.

  • Must be able to sit, stand, lift, and/or bend throughout shift.

  • Must be able to lift, carry, and/or hold up to 10 lbs.

  • Must pass drug test.

  • No criminal convictions.

  • Must be a citizen of the United States or possess necessary authorization from INS.

  • Travel may be required.
