Full job description
The New Jersey Department of Health is expanding its team within the Office of Emergency Medical Services (OEMS), Division of Disaster Preparedness, Resiliency, and Emergency Medical Services. OEMS is seeking a dedicated prehospital clinician to perform professional, administrative, and analytical work supporting the planning, operation, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of programs that promote public safety, health, and welfare.
The selected candidate will conduct onsite inspections and audits to evaluate compliance with applicable State and federal regulatory standards. Responsibilities will include coordinating the review and revision of program materials, manuals, policies, and procedures to enhance program delivery and ensure regulatory compliance. The employee will analyze proposed federal and State legislation and regulations to assess potential program impacts and recommend changes to operational policies and procedures. Duties will also include compiling data, preparing reports, supporting program development and enforcement, researching and disseminating program-related information, and preparing written materials such as correspondence, reports, and other documents related to OEMS functions.
This position may be eligible to participate in the Department’s pilot telework program, which offers eligible employees the opportunity to work remotely for up to two days per week, as approved by management.
REQUIREMENTS:
NOTE: Applicants must meet one of the following or a combination of both experience and education. Thirty (30) semester hour credits are equal to one (1) year of relevant experience.
Six (6) years of experience as a paramedic or registered nurse in a mobile intensive care program providing advanced life support services.
OR
Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; and two (2) years of the above-mentioned professional experience.
NOTE: "Professional experience" refers to work that is creative, analytical, evaluative, and interpretive; requires a range and depth of specialized knowledge of the profession's principles, concepts, theories, and practices; and is performed with the authority to act according to one's own judgment and make accurate and informed decisions.
LICENSE: Certification as Emergency Medical Technician by the New Jersey State Department of Health and Senior Services.Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in NJ only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.
