Position Summary The Senior Manager, Strategy Planning & Governance is responsible for leading strategic planning, governance, and portfolio oversight activities that support the long-term success of the Payer Relations organization. This role drives alignment on business priorities, decision-making processes, and risk management practices while providing strategic insights to senior leadership. The ideal candidate is a strategic and analytical leader with experience in business planning, governance, executive communications, and cross-functional collaboration who thrives in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead the development, execution, and ongoing maintenance of multi-year and annual payer strategy plans.
- Manage governance processes, decision-making frameworks, and executive review forums to support effective business operations.
- Monitor portfolio performance, strategic initiatives, and business risks, providing recommendations and insights to leadership.
- Develop executive presentations, strategic communications, and planning materials that support key business decisions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including Legal and Compliance, to ensure governance standards and strategic commitments are effectively managed.
Travel: Up to 10% travel required
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in strategy, corporate planning, governance, business operations, program management, or a related field.
- Experience within healthcare, managed care, pharmacy benefit management (PBM), retail pharmacy, or a related industry.
- Demonstrated experience leading business planning processes, governance programs, or executive review cycles.
- Proven ability to develop executive-level presentations, strategic recommendations, and business communications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple organizational levels.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, or enterprise planning.
- Experience designing or implementing governance frameworks, decision-rights models, or operating structures.
- Knowledge of payer strategy, pharmacy reimbursement, healthcare economics, or pharmacy network management.
- Master's degree (MBA, MPH, or similar advanced degree).
- Interest in advancing into broader commercial, operational, or strategic leadership roles.
Education
- Bachelor's degree required, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- Master's degree preferred.
Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is:
$82,940.00 - $182,549.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
