Full Charge Bookkeeper

Robert Half is currently recruiting for a detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to support day-to-day accounting operations for a business based in Knoxville, Tennessee. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing transaction processing, and helping ensure timely completion of monthly accounting activities. The ideal candidate brings hands-on bookkeeping experience, strong command of QuickBooks, and the ability to manage both payables and receivables with accuracy and consistency.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain complete and accurate financial records by recording daily transactions and organizing accounting documentation.

• Process vendor invoices and outgoing payments while ensuring accounts payable activity is entered correctly and on schedule.

• Manage customer billing, monitor incoming payments, and follow up on outstanding balances to support accounts receivable operations.

• Reconcile bank accounts and key balance sheet accounts to confirm accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.

• Prepare journal entries and support month-end closing tasks to keep financial reporting current and reliable.

• Review account activity regularly to identify inconsistencies, investigate variances, and maintain clean general ledger records.

• Track and calculate commission-related payments using established records and supporting data.

• Utilize QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online to manage bookkeeping functions, maintain reporting accuracy, and support daily accounting workflows.

Requirements • At least 3 years of experience in a full charge bookkeeping or closely related accounting role.

• Practical experience using QuickBooks, including QuickBooks Online, in a business environment.

• Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and month-end close processes.

• Proven ability to complete bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations with a high level of accuracy.

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple accounting priorities effectively.

• Solid understanding of core bookkeeping principles and financial recordkeeping best practices.

• Experience tracking commissions or handling compensation-related accounting entries is preferred.
