  • Optimize database performance and resolve database and application-related issues.

  • Implement secure, scalable, and maintainable database solutions.

  • Collaborate with developers, infrastructure and cybersecurity teams, program leadership, and government stakeholders to support application delivery and ongoing operations.

  • Prioritize work, manage assigned tasks, and communicate technical findings, risks, and recommendations effectively.

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • 10 years of experience in database development, administration, or related database engineering roles, including hands-on experience in both development and administration.

  • An interim or active Secret security clearance.

  • Ability to meet DoD 8140 foundational compliance requirements through a qualifying degree or certification.

  • Experience developing, administering, and supporting Oracle relational database management systems (RDBMS) in enterprise environments.

  • Experience with SQL and PL/SQL, including developing and maintaining database objects such as tables, views, stored procedures, functions, packages, and triggers.

  • Knowledge of database design, data modeling, query optimization, and performance troubleshooting.

  • Previous experience supporting database administration activities, including installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, monitoring, maintenance, backup and recovery, and troubleshooting.

  • Experience managing database users, privileges, access controls, auditing, and other database security functions.

  • Previous experience supporting large-scale relational databases and developing secure, scalable data solutions using established database and data engineering practices.

  • Ability to collaborate across technical teams and clearly communicate solutions, findings, risks, and recommendations to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

  • Ability to travel 10% as needed.

Additional desired qualifications:

  • Experience supporting financial, budgeting, logistics, or other enterprise business systems.

  • Experience with cloud-hosted databases and related compute, storage, security, monitoring, and backup services, particularly AWS services such as RDS, EC2, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and AWS DMS.

  • Knowledge of additional relational database platforms, such as PostgreSQL or Microsoft SQL Server.

  • Previous experience with data integration, migration, synchronization, or extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes.

  • Experience automating database development or administration tasks through scripting or other tools.

  • Experience supporting DoD cybersecurity requirements, Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes, Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), and security controls.

  • Experience using version control and work tracking tools, such as Git and Jira.
