Full job description

NVIDIA has been transforming computer graphics, PC gaming, and accelerated computing for more than 25 years. It’s a unique legacy of innovation that’s fueled by great technology—and amazing people. Today, we’re tapping into the unlimited potential of AI to define the next era of computing. An era in which our GPU acts as the brains of computers, robots, and self-driving cars that can understand the world. Doing what’s never been done before takes vision, innovation, and the world’s best talent. As an NVIDIAN, you’ll be immersed in an inclusive, supportive environment where everyone is inspired to do their best work. Come join the team and see how you can make a lasting impact on the world.

Join NVIDIA, a leader in AI infrastructure, as a DSX Electrical Engineer in Santa Clara, CA! You will work closely with engineers, owners, operators, contractors, and technology partners. Your role is essential in advancing AI infrastructure at large scale. This position lets you use your field experience to develop reference builds, provide technical mentorship, and validate programs for dependable, high-density data center power systems. Your efforts will improve site planning, build, construction, and deployment. This results in clearer builds, quicker technical decisions, and fewer issues.

What you'll be doing:

  • Building strong feedback loops with electrical engineering teams at NVIDIA Cloud Partners, data center providers, EPC firms, facility infrastructure OEMs, system integrators, and AI infrastructure operators.
  • Translating recurring build and deployment friction into clear requirements for DSX product management and engineering roadmaps.
  • Collaborating across NVIDIA, and with partners, to build and publish practical technical assets for DSX electrical deployments, including reference power architectures, design guides, deployment playbooks, equipment selection mentorship, validated examples, and troubleshooting content.
  • Leading technical workshops, architecture reviews, and build deep dives to help partners apply DSX electrical reference builds to new and existing AI factory sites.
  • Supporting early-access and field-validation programs for DSX electrical solutions, testing reference builds and operating assumptions against real sites, high-density AI Compute racks, and dynamic GPU power behavior before broader release.
  • Working across DSX engineering, product management, solution architecture, deployment, and developer marketing to align technical content with product capabilities and deployment needs.
  • Representing the DSX Electrical field at customer forums, technical conferences, industry working sessions, and partner events, presenting credible engineering mentorship and bringing subject area insights back to the product teams.

What we need to see:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, with a Professional Engineer license or equivalent experience.
  • 12 or more years of experience in data center electrical build, construction, commissioning, systems engineering, solutions architecture, technical product management, or a related customer-facing engineering role.
  • Deep knowledge of the electrical power path from utility service through high-, medium-, and low-voltage distribution to mechanical loads and IT racks.
  • Hands-on experience with generators, microgrids, BESS, UPS systems, RPPs, busway, rack power supplies or power shelves, and the electrical interfaces for chillers, cooling towers, CRAC units, and CRAH units.
  • Experience crafting or evaluating electrical systems for high rack power densities, including load behavior, redundancy, protection, maintainability, and operational change.
  • Expertise in short-circuit, selective-coordination, and arc-flash studies, plus a strong understanding of electrical control sequences and Sequence of Operations.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, controls, life-safety, and IT networking systems that collaborate with data center electrical infrastructure.
  • Ability to turn complex engineering topics into clear written mentorship, technical presentations, training, and productive develop discussions for varied technical audiences.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Experience applying electrical reference architectures to large-scale GPU clusters, AI factories, or accelerated-computing deployments.
  • Knowledge of dynamic power behavior and mitigation strategies for large GPU deployments.
  • Hands-on expertise with battery energy storage systems, on-site generation, microgrids, microgrid controllers, or utility interconnection requirements.
  • Familiarity with 800 VDC power distribution, international electrical systems, and the adaptation of global standards to regional codes and construction practices.
  • A record of crafting technical communities, industry mentorship, reference builds, training programs, or standards that engineering teams actively use. Demonstrated ability to convey complex technical topics to engineers as well as strategic direction to executives.

You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.

Applications for this job will be accepted at least until November 6, 2026. This posting is for an existing vacancy. NVIDIA uses AI tools in its recruiting processes.
