Job Description:

We are seeking an Enterprise Observability & AIOps Solutions Architect responsible for designing and implementing an integrated observability and AIOps architecture that transforms telemetry from infrastructure, applications, networks, endpoints, user experience, security, cloud, and service management platforms into proactive, data-driven operational decisions. This role owns the end-to-end Sense–Score–Act–Govern design framework. The architect will tightly align the observability and AIOps architecture with Network Operations Center (NOC) execution, driving measurable improvements in service reliability, operational efficiency, and Government transparency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define enterprise observability principles, reference architecture, instrumentation standards, telemetry ownership, service model, retention, access, and integration patterns.

  • Architect metrics, logs, traces, synthetic monitoring, real-user/digital experience, network telemetry, security signals, events, topology, and change/incident context as an integrated operating system.

  • Define service-level indicators, SLOs, error-budget or equivalent reliability measures, leading indicators, alert policies, event correlation, and escalation behavior.

  • Design MEWI data flow and score architecture with Data, Analytics, Security, and Operations teams; ensure current score, trends, degradation drivers, and source evidence are reproducible.

  • Design closed-loop patterns that map monitors and score conditions to diagnosis, cataloged automation, post-action validation, ServiceNow logging, and human escalation.

  • Integrate Dynatrace, Aternity, Azure Monitor, Sentinel, Cisco telemetry, ServiceNow ITOM/Event Management, CMDB/service mapping, and other approved platforms.

  • Establish instrumentation and observability requirements for cloud, applications, AI services, data pipelines, VDI/EUC, network, identity, and security engineering.

  • Lead observability architecture reviews, tool rationalization, telemetry-volume/cost decisions, onboarding priorities, and technical exception decisions.

  • Partner with NOC/Service Operations to translate architecture into procedures, roles, dashboards, shift use, incident response, and continual improvement.

  • Mentor monitoring and reliability engineers and brief leadership/Government on health, risk, value, and roadmap evidence.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or related field, or approved equivalent experience.

  • Location: Onsite

  • Clearance: Active TS/SCI with Polygraph

  • 10+ years of monitoring, observability, reliability, operations engineering, or enterprise architecture experience, including 5+ years leading observability designs.

  • Deep experience with at least one enterprise observability platform such as Dynatrace plus strong working knowledge of complementary log, trace, event, DEX, cloud, and ITSM capabilities.

  • Demonstrated architecture across metrics, logs, traces, synthetic monitoring, service mapping/topology, events, user experience, SLOs, and incident/change context.

  • Experience correlating telemetry across applications, infrastructure, cloud, network, endpoints, and security to support root cause and proactive detection.

  • Experience designing alerting/event-management models that control noise, false positives, duplication, routing, suppression, and escalation.

  • Understanding of AIOps methods, anomaly detection, predictive analytics, automation triggers, closed-loop remediation, and human-control boundaries.

  • Strong knowledge of data quality, cardinality/volume, retention, classified data handling, access, audit, operational readiness, and tool integration.

  • Demonstrated enterprise technical leadership, stakeholder influence, mentoring, and ability to drive platform adoption across operations and engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Dynatrace Implementation Professional or Administration Professional, ServiceNow ITOM/Event Management or Splunk credentials, and ITIL Foundation Version 5 or current ITIL 4.

  • Experience building mission/user experience indexes, scorecards, NOC leading indicator libraries, or single-pane-of-glass services.

  • Experience with ServiceNow Event Management/AIOps, CMDB, discovery, service mapping, automation, and customer-facing managed-service dashboards.

  • Experience integrating Cisco network/security telemetry, endpoint DEX, vulnerability/patch posture, and AI service telemetry.

  • Prior DoW/IC observability architecture in multi-enclave or disconnected environments.
