Job DescriptionThis role is responsible for filling prescriptions, preparing medicines, ordering/maintaining inventory, overseeing the work of our pharmacy technicians, externs and interns, reviewing and assisting with the pharmacy's different automations (DOSIS, Parata ATP2, and Pyxis ES). Our pharmacists also provide education regarding medications to medical and nursing staff. This job as a pharmacist will perform duties in an institutional setting for Correctional Health Services.Essential Job DutiesA solid understanding of principles, theories, and practices of medicine.A knowledge of agency objectives, organization, structure and mission.An understanding of interactions and adverse reactions of drugs, medications and their dosage.Consultation and/or expert knowledgeSupplemental Information:An offer of employment will be contingent on the applicant successfully passing a DHHS background check, pre-employment drug testing, and a Utah Department of Corrections (UDC) background screening.Risks which require the use of special safety precautions and/or equipment, e.g., working around operating machines, working with contagious diseases or hazardous chemicals, etc.Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.Licensure to practice pharmacy in the state of Utah.
