A Snapshot of Your Day

Our steadily growing High-Voltage Substation group, based in Raleigh, North Carolina, is looking for a highly driven, self-motivated, and solution-oriented Certified Commercial Project Manager / Project Manager Finance. In this role, you will be responsible for the successful financial controlling and reporting of construction projects, working closely with the technical project management organization to ensure execution in accordance with contractual obligations, project management standards, and financial reporting requirements. You will oversee all financial aspects of your projects, from forecasting revenue, profit margins, and cash flow to managing contractual invoicing, financial risks, and compliance. You will apply your expertise across projects ranging from EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) lite to full turnkey and large-volume projects, contributing to strong financial performance and successful project delivery.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Take full responsibility for all finance-related matters across assigned projects, including accounting, legal, tax, and foreign currency topics, while managing and optimizing targeted financial results with due professional care.

  • Forecast project progress, revenue, profit margins, and cash flow on a monthly basis, ensuring appropriate revenue recognition, timely contractual invoicing, and accurate financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Prepare commercial documentation for regular project status meetings and ensure the accuracy and completeness of commercial project data during execution.

  • Ensure compliance with IFRS 15, local GAAP requirements, financial reporting guidelines, and internal controls, while maintaining accurate cost and pricing calculations and complete project books and records in appropriate systems, including SAP and iTWO PM Imp@ct.

  • Ensure the appropriate application and management of financial guarantees, bonds, and project securities, and support the Project Manager in identifying and minimizing non-conformance costs.

  • Support the implementation of lessons learned across assigned projects and the wider organization, contributing to improved tender calculation accuracy through early involvement in the project process.

  • Partner with the Project Manager to identify, evaluate, and assess project risks and opportunities, negotiate changes with customers and vendors, develop mitigation strategies, and coordinate appropriate response activities.

  • Interpret and apply relevant regulations and requirements in customer and vendor contracts and their attachments, determining applicable flow-down conditions from the prime contract to vendors in collaboration with the assigned Project Manager, Procurement Manager, and other relevant stakeholders.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or equivalent degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or another relevant financial field.

  • 4+ years of professional experience in a similar financial project management or commercial project role.

  • Mandatory project management certification, such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or an International Project Management Association (IPMA) certification.

  • Strong financial and commercial project management capabilities, including project forecasting, revenue recognition, profit margin and cash flow management, contractual invoicing, cost and pricing calculations, and financial reporting.

  • Knowledge of IFRS 15, local GAAP requirements, internal controls, and the financial and commercial implications of customer and vendor contracts; experience with SAP, iTWO PM Imp@ct, or similar project management and financial systems is beneficial.

  • Demonstrated ownership of assigned projects, with a proactive approach to addressing challenges, managing risks and opportunities, resolving issues, and collaborating effectively with technical project managers, Procurement, and other stakeholders.

  • Ability to support projects ranging from EPC lite to full turnkey and large-volume construction projects, applying lessons learned and contributing to continuous improvement in project execution and tender accuracy.

  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
