Full job description

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Data Center Construction Project Manager (Owner’s Rep / ORPM) for a top technology client supporting large-scale data center builds in Texas. There are two openings, one in Dallas and one in Austin. These projects are already underway, so the client needs someone who can step in quickly, get up to speed and help stabilize execution. Dallas: a campus of about 450 MW. Austin: a 200–300 MW phased campus. The buildings are at different stages, with core and shell going in by phase and commissioning and turnover already underway on some. Acting as the client’s representative on site, the ORPM will oversee the developer and general contractor through construction, commissioning and turnover. This person will track progress, flag risks and schedule slippage early, and make sure closeout items like punch lists and commissioning documents are finished. The ORPM will work closely with the client’s program team, Project Controls, Commissioning and Construction Managers. They will get results through relationships and data, not by directing the contractor’s work. This role reports into the client’s Texas regional leadership. This role is onsite in the Dallas or Austin, TX area.

Skills and Requirements

5+ years of construction project management on data center, mission-critical or large industrial builds Experience joining projects already underway and quickly bringing order to schedule, scope and open issues Working knowledge of commissioning and the turnover process, including punch list, closeout and handover to operations Solid MEP understanding and the ability to follow MEP-heavy scopes and sequencing Experience working with or overseeing general contractors, developers and vendors Ability to read a contractor schedule and spot slippage, sequencing problems and risk Experience partnering with Project Controls and Construction Managers on change management Comfortable being an onsite point of contact on a fast-moving, high-visibility program Strong communication, follow-through and stakeholder management skills Owner’s-rep or client-side experience Experience on multi-building or phased campus builds Exposure to core and shell delivery Power or electrical infrastructure background PMP certification OSHA 30
