Full-Time Outpatient Occupational Therapist - Driving Program

Sunnyview Rehab Hospital, Schenectady, NY

What you will do:

Will be responsible for direct patient care, evaluation and implementation of programs designed to improve patients' functional independence.

Responsibilities :

  • Perform evaluations and re-evaluations according to standards and recommended techniques.

  • Assess a driver’s physical, visual, and cognitive abilities to determine if it is safe for them to return to the road.

  • Establish, implement, and adapt an individualized treatment plan of care (including appropriate goal setting, treatment activities and frequency).

  • Document accurately, completely, and timely.

  • Will be mentored and trained to obtain Certified Driving Rehabilitation Specialist credential

What you will need:

  • NYS Occupational Therapist license is required

  • At least 1 year of OT experience is strongly preferred

  • Demonstration of at least entry level professional competency of Occupational Therapy practice, theory, principles and applications

  • Must function well within a team concept of rehabilitation professionals.

  • Excellent communication skills, flexibility and exceptional clinical reasoning skills are essential.

Pay Range: $41.51 - $53.72 Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
