Full job description
The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is responsible for managing and protecting the state's renewable natural resources, including all wildlife and aquatic life. LDWF supports a strong work ethic in its employees and incorporates the use of good science, accurate information, and technology.
This position will perform specialized technical, operational, and digital evidence duties in support of the Technology & Support section. Work involves reviewing and fulfilling public records request, retrieving and redacting digital evidence, managing CAD related incident documentation, and serving as the primary Body Worn Camera (BWC) Custodian for the Enforcement Division. The incumbent also provides statewide technology support, assists with troubleshooting, and contributes to the maintenance and accuracy of enforcement technology systems.

Incomplete applications may not be considered.Two years of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been as a Wildlife Enforcement Senior Agent or higher rank in state service:
Four years of experience in wildlife conservation law enforcement.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Possession of an active Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification.
Possession of a current driver's license.
An applicant who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence or a felony, or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified by the hiring agency until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted.
NOTE: This job has special physical requirements in that the incumbent must lift heavy objects (50 lbs. or more), walk long distances, work in harsh weather conditions, fire handguns, rifles, and shotguns accurately and have the ability to operate vehicles, boats, and all-terrain vehicles while in the performance of duties.The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here. Job Duties:• Reviews Public Records Requests and coordinate responses in accordance with applicable laws and departmental policy.
- Retrieves CAD incidents, citation data, and related documentation for internal review or public records fulfillment.
- Redacts Digital Evidence including body worn camera footage and other multimedia files to ensure compliance with privacy and statutory requirements.
- Serves as the primary Body Worm Camera Custodian, responsible for evidence retrieval, categorization, retention management, audit preparation, and coordination with enforcement personnel.
- Supports the Technology Lieutenant by assisting with troubleshooting issues related to RMS, electronic citation systems, time management systems, and other enforcement technology platforms.
- Assists in testing, training, and disturbing electronic devices statewide ensuring proper documentation and user readiness.
- Assists with systematic updates, technology changes, and operational adjustments by communicating with regional personnel and SMEs as directed by the Technology Lieutenant.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support statewide enforcement technology operations.
Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: This is a promotional opportunity, open only to current permanent, classified employees of the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries/Enforcement Division.
Location: This position is domiciles in East Baton Rouge. A Driver's License is required.
Shift Differential: This position is eligible for a shift differential in addition to the base hourly rate when scheduled to work designated evening, night, weekend, or other qualifying shifts. The applicable differential is subject to LDWF's current compensation policies.
Overtime as necessary.
