Build and automate enterprise platform services across hybrid infrastructure environments spanning public cloud and private cloud technologies. This senior engineering role combines hands-on OpenShift and Kubernetes platform management, infrastructure automation, enterprise operating system lifecycle management, and secure, resilient infrastructure design.

The position offers the opportunity to develop repeatable automation solutions, deliver platform services across cloud environments, and contribute to infrastructure modernization and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do

  • Manage virtual machine and container workloads running on OpenShift Virtualization and OpenShift/Kubernetes.

  • Provision and manage images, templates, and shared resources supporting OpenShift workloads.

  • Build automation for on-premises and cloud environments using Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation.

  • Deliver platform services across AWS accounts and/or GCP projects within multi-account security models.

  • Manage enterprise operating system lifecycle activities, including golden images, patching, and system hardening.

  • Participate in large-scale resiliency, data protection, and disaster recovery solutions.

  • Own automation work within larger projects from design through delivery.

  • Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks and roles following team coding standards and Git workflows.

  • Participate in technology evaluations and re-engineering activities supporting continuous improvement.

  • Maintain documentation covering design decisions, estimating assumptions, code modules, and performance metrics.

  • Participate in platform, code/Git, and documentation walkthroughs.

  • Ensure solutions meet design, performance, quality, and security standards.

  • Identify and recommend improvements across planning, design, development, and testing.

  • Analyze performance data, including CPU, memory, and storage.

  • Apply knowledge of agentic solutions and their appropriate usage within critical systems.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant infrastructure or platform engineering experience.

  • Hands-on experience managing workloads on Red Hat OpenShift, including OpenShift Virtualization and Kubernetes.

  • Experience provisioning images, managing templates, and supporting shared resources for OpenShift workloads.

  • Hands-on experience with at least one public cloud platform: AWS or GCP.

  • Experience with multi-cloud account security models and cross-account service delivery.

  • Experience with on-premises technologies, including VMware and Linux/Windows server administration.

  • Foundational system administration experience covering operating systems, configuration, installations, patch management, and server maintenance.

  • Network fundamentals covering firewalls, proxies, IP management, routing, and DNS.

  • Experience with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (AAP), including job templates, workflows, inventories, credentials, and Execution Environments.

  • Experience building and maintaining Ansible content executed through AAP to automate on-premises and cloud services.

  • Understanding of operating system hardening practices and standardized image-based deployment methodologies.

  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, microservices, and similar endpoints for configuration, data extraction, and automation.

  • Understanding of security best practices, secure coding practices, secrets management, certificates, and certificate management.

  • Demonstrated experience with one or more programming or scripting languages, including Python, Linux, Shell, Bash, or other programming languages.

  • Proficiency in Git/GitLab source code control, branching, and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Understanding of resilient system design, high availability, and disaster recovery methodologies.

  • Ability to participate in agile processes, work stories through each sprint, adjust as needed, and collaborate with the team.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with multiple public cloud platforms, including AWS and GCP.

  • Experience with CloudFormation in addition to Terraform and Ansible.

  • Broader programming and scripting proficiency, particularly Python, Linux, Shell, or Bash.

  • Familiarity with agentic solutions and their appropriate application within critical systems.

Ideal Candidate

A well-rounded senior infrastructure or platform engineer who brings hands-on hybrid infrastructure experience, strong automation capabilities, a DevSecOps mindset, and Site Reliability Engineering principles.

Curiosity, humility, open-mindedness, and pride in delivering high-quality engineering work are valued.
