Full job description

At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow. Our teams deliver innovative solutions for clients developing the next generation of advanced manufacturing facilities, semiconductors, data centers, life sciences campuses, and other mission-critical infrastructure projects around the world.

We're looking for a Director of Electrical Procurement to support our multi-billion-dollar data center projects.

In this role you'll be a Hands-on Director owning end-to-end electrical procurement (materials and trade) across two multi-billion-dollar data center campuses. You set strategy and execute it—personally driving negotiations, clearing issues, and delivering equipment and installation capacity on schedule and budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own sourcing, negotiation, and contracting for critical electrical equipment (switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS, PDUs, busway, cable, etc.).

  • Lead procurement of electrical trade packages, including bid strategy, contractor selection, and contract administration.

  • Develop and execute capacity plans to mitigate long-lead risk across both campuses.

  • Partner with design, construction, and commissioning teams to align procurement with project schedules.

  • Personally manage high-value deals, supplier performance, expediting, and escalations that threaten cost or schedule.

  • Track and report on electrical procurement status, cost, and risk.

  • 12+ years of procurement or commercial experience on large capital projects.

  • Direct experience procuring electrical equipment and/or electrical trade packages for data centers or mission-critical facilities.

  • Proven ability to operate as a hands-on director who personally drives outcomes, not just manages a team.

  • Strong commercial judgment, negotiation skills, and understanding of data center electrical systems and construction sequencing.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • Multi-billion-dollar data center program experience.

  • Existing relationships with major electrical OEMs and contractors.

  • Experience with both OFCI equipment and electrical subcontract procurement on the same projects.
