CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client of over 15 years has a W2 contract assignment for a Technician II.

Type: Contract

Job Title: Technician II

Location: Painted Post, NY

Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Painted Post, NY

Pay Rate: Based on experience

Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm

Education: High School Diploma required; Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree preferred. A BA with relevant technical field experience is acceptable.

Description

CTG is seeking a highly organized and self-motivated Technician II to support five laboratory environments. This role will organize, inventory, maintain, and document laboratory equipment and spaces while supporting engineers with equipment research, procurement, setup, and inventory management. The ideal candidate will have laboratory experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Requirements

  • Organize, inventory, clean, and manage equipment across five laboratories.

  • Maintain accurate equipment records and documentation in an inventory management system.

  • Research laboratory equipment, parts, and specifications; support ordering, receiving, and setup.

  • Inspect laboratory spaces and document safety, housekeeping, and equipment issues.

  • Support engineers with laboratory organization, equipment, and prototyping activities.

  • Learn and train others on inventory management systems and processes.

  • Help develop and implement labeling, scanning, AI-enabled, and other technology-driven solutions to improve laboratory efficiency.

  • Maintain safe, efficient, and well-organized laboratory environments.

  • Communicate effectively with engineers, coworkers, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of laboratory experience preferred, with strong organization, documentation, and inventory management skills.

  • Experience researching laboratory parts/equipment and documenting technical specifications.

  • Ability to follow laboratory safety protocols and equipment procedures.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, Microsoft Office, and presentation skills.

  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, quick learner with the ability to work independently, multitask, and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.

  • Ability to learn and effectively use new systems and technologies.

  • CAD/layout experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Visio, or similar tools is preferred.

  • Experience with AI-enabled technologies or process improvement is a plus.
