Paramedic: EMS (1) Full Time

The Paramedic is a New York State certified emergency responder capable of effectively delivering emergency care and treatment to those sick or injured in various, sometimes physically demanding, situations. The primary function of this position is to provide advanced level pre-hospital emergency care to individuals experiencing medical or traumatic conditions. The Paramedic provides assessment, treatment, and medical transportation of ill and/or injured patients from an incident scene to an appropriate medical facility or between hospitals and/or other medical facilities. The work is performed under the clinical supervision of the assigned supervisor and administrative supervision of the Director of Fire and Emergency Management. Supervision may be exercised over EMT personnel. Does related work as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or possession of an appropriate equivalency diploma recognized by the New York State Department of Education AND possession of current ACLS and PALS certification AND certification as an EMT-Paramedic, from the New York State Department of Health, which must be maintained throughout employment. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS AT TIME OF APPLICATION AND FOR DURATION OF EMPLOYMENT: 1. Possession of a valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicles operated, and a driving record acceptable to the County of Wyoming's insurance carrier. 2. 3. 4. Possession of valid American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR certification. Continuous credentialing, as may be specified by the Regional EMS Council, at the Paramedic level. Credentials include; ACLS, ITLS or PHTLS, PALS and must be provided upon request. Must authorize and execute any necessary releases to enable the appointing authority to verify licensure and driving history involving violations and/or crimes.
