About The Team
The Quality Engineering Platform is part of FIS Developer Experience, the platform engineering group that builds the tools, pipelines and services more than 5,000 FIS engineers use to build, test and ship software. As AI coding assistants and agents write a growing share of our code, the volume of change is climbing fast. Our job is to make sure quality keeps pace, giving every team fast, trustworthy signal on whether a change is safe to release, whether a person or an AI wrote it.
What You Will Be Doing
You will own the direction of the entire Quality Engineering Platform and lead the teams that build it, reporting to the head of Developer Experience platforms. You will decide where the platform goes as AI changes how software is written and tested, turn that into a roadmap teams across FIS want to adopt, and be accountable for the results.
- Set the vision, strategy and multi-year roadmap for the Quality Engineering Platform, designed for a world where AI writes and tests a large share of our code
- Lead and grow the Quality Engineering Platform teams, including early-career engineers, in close partnership with the platform’s Principal Engineer and Delivery Manager
- Build quality capabilities for AI-generated code, such as automated test generation, checks that run before code is merged, and ways to measure whether AI tools actually improve outcomes
- Drive adoption across FIS engineering teams by making the platform the easiest path to fast, reliable testing, measured by adoption, release confidence and defects that reach clients
- Partner with DevSecOps, Developer Experience, observability and AI platform teams so quality is built into the developer workflow from first commit to production
- Own the platform’s operating model, including priorities, budget, tool and vendor choices, service levels and the metrics you report to senior leadership
What You Bring
- Significant experience leading software engineering teams, including leading through managers or technical leads
- A track record of owning a platform or product end to end~ strategy, roadmap, delivery and adoption by its users
- Deep, hands-on understanding of test automation, CI/CD and modern quality practices, enough to challenge technical decisions and earn the trust of senior engineers
- Practical experience with AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code, and a clear point of view on how they change testing and quality
- Ability to express quality in numbers leadership cares about (escaped defects, release frequency, recovery time, test reliability) and use them to make decisions
- Confident communication with senior stakeholders and a habit of influencing teams you don’t directly manage
Bonus if you have
- Experience in financial services or another regulated industry where quality failures carry real client and compliance impact
- Experience building or adopting AI-driven testing, such as generated tests, self-healing tests or evaluation of AI agent output
- Experience running an internal platform as a product, with user research, adoption metrics and internal customer support
- Experience building teams that include early-career engineers or college hire programs
- Familiarity with tools such as Playwright, Cypress, k6 or Selenium at enterprise scale
What We Offer You
- A competitive salary and benefits
- A variety of career development tools, resources and opportunities
- The chance to work on some of the most challenging, relevant issues. in financial services & technology
- Time to support charities and give back in your community
- A work environment built on collaboration, flexibility and respect
